I returned it, did some additional research and found this modem, which was just released last spring, is DOCSIS 3.1 so I needn't worry about future obsolescence and it has more bells and whistles than I'll ever need. I bought it during a flash sale for $120 and since it's a modem only--not a router--I also bought a good Netgear router. The total was under $200. I'm now over-equipped with more tech than I require but I'm happy with the purchase. Motorola installation and configuration is straightforward and only required around 20 minutes, and it's absolutely reliable. My only wi-fi devices are my laptop, phone and TV but I can now add a dozen more if I choose, all at 1000mbps. I shopped around a great deal and this is superior tech to any combo modem/router at around the same price. It's more than I'll ever need or use, but what the heck...I was surprised that there weren't many equivalent devices on the market. My main issue was that I wanted the DOCSIS 3.1 platform, which is superceding DOCSIS 3.0 and will be the new standard (and could require upgrading), and I didn't want 5-year-old technology. It's more than I wanted to pay but it checks all my boxes. It's a very good modem...I could have gotten by with a $100 device and not noticed the difference but now I'm safe for the indefinite future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Motorola Tech Support Is Poor/Non Responsive *by A***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2023* First the good: The Modem (Once finally working with my NetGear router) is extremely fast & worth the upgrade from my previous Motorola SBG6580 modem. And this is even with it being placed in the basement office without a mesh system.Now the bad (From my experience): Motorola’s “Customer Service” was non existent. On three attempts (Over a Friday-Monday) to get the modem working properly, I spent 2+ hours over the course of TWO days trying to reach Motorola’s claimed “Customer Service” for help. On each attempt, after an hour + on hold, the response was ‘No tech is available to take your call’ & then an abrupt Disconnection on Motorola’s end. I even left a message with no response.After doing my own research and verifying I had a strong signal from my ISP, I was able to get the system up and running. Basically I had to reset my Router, go step by step in the set up process again and log back into my router once I was able to get a connection.After this four day event, I would suggest contacting Amazon’s Customer service before I made ANY attempts to contact Motorola (Good luck with that).The Modem is great, but the Motorola “Customer Service” was non existent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ With Link Aggregation Group supports >1Gbit/s ISP CDR (hidden feature) *by F***T on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2023* Please Read The Friendly Manual of the modemThis modem supports Link Aggregation Group (LAG) IEEE 802.3ad -- do not confuse this with IEEE 802.1axYou need to be on a >1Gbit/s ISP CDR with an ISP that didn't disable LAG in the FW / configuration of the modemYou may have to remove the cover of the 2nd...
