7.62mmR Mosin Nagant Handbook

It's respectable.
Was it worth paying for? Perhaps. The content was basically what I expected The rifles are basically are their own manual; they're pretty self explanatory for anyone with a little critical thinking ability, but I did learn some interesting pointers. The bulk of this content is basically available on the internet. I will say though, it's nice to have a manual that has it all in one place; and it's a published book with a pedigree of similarly released manuals. That means it's a more reliable item for resale. Additionally, It's something nice to give with the rifle if ever parting with it.

Excellent Mosin Nagant Information
I've owned a couple of Mosin Nagant Rifles Tulia Armory 1938 & 39 91/30s. Having disassemble and cleaned the cosmaline from both prior to obtaining this book I found the disassemble and re-assembly instructions were apt. This is a brief reference for a casual collector who doesn't plan on adding any additional acquisitions. I also own an Arisaka Type 38 Rifle a "Mukkie" from the Manchurian Armory made in 1935. So the Mauser Bolt found in the two was a point of interest, as were the commonalities of design in that era.

Lacking in illustrations of disassembly, but lots of information...
The bolt and trigger disassembly have only a few drawings, but lots of technical names. You have to look several pages over to find a labeled breakdown of the parts. Also, the book description says that "The binding is triple saddle-stitched", but it is only stapled twice. Overall, an okay book, but not outstanding by any means.

Handbooks for Weapons
Not my first, because there are tons of older firearms, and we who collect them, need to know a lot about them! Not my only reference, either, but, small, compact, available in my pocket to show others!Yes, tons of info on lthe web, and in "YouTube" videos, but, can't share them out in the swamps with the hunting crowds!See Youtube "350 yard hog" for a good shot with a Mosin Nagant 3 line (91/30) rifle!

Interesting read if you love this old warhorse!!
If you love all things Mosin, as I do, this is a cool little book to have. It describes the differences in the various generations of the Mosin Nagant. (for instance, did you know that the sights on the earliest Mosins were measured in arshins, not meters? If you're now asking, "what the heck is an arshin?" buy the book...it explains that, too!
