Although they are stiff, they are also flexible. That seems a contradiction in terms but you have to see what I mean when you get yours.The company does not claim these are noise canceling but due to the unique design, the earplugs are perfect fit which blocks out the outside noise. The package comes with extra ear plugs in three sizes to fit everyone.The button controls allow easy switching from telephone to music even while walking. I say walking as we are neither one runners but enjoy these headphones as we walk. It allows us to be hands free while walking and listening to music and remain so while talking on the cell phone. While I am an Apple user my husband is an Android user and this unit is compatible with them both having built-in microphones in the earbuds.The packaging is convenient for storage and has the compartments for the cord and fitted area for the headphones.The only negative for me was the sound not being able to adjust. I am hard of hearing and so they work best for my husband as you cannot wear hearing aids and these as well. When I could hear the sound, as I said before, it was extremely clear with no echo or tinny sound. As for my husband, he said they were a fit uncomfortable due to being tight but his head is a bit larger than some.I am very impressed that the warranty is so great and combined with the low price of less than $16. you cannot go wrong. One of the features that add to that comfort is the fact that ear each piece can swivel to fit at the right angle and the bow that holds it in place is flexible enough so it does not feel like they are nailed in. The biggest surprise is the sound quality. Very clear and very rich tones.
