Good product
I am a contractor and use a tape every day. I like the durability of these (the other yellow and black brand gets rusty easily in wet weather). I also like the magnetic end on this tape. I have the 30' model and like the size and weight.

Komelon 7130 Monster MagGrip 30'
This tape is great, it costs $3 more than the regular chrome Stanley 35' at Home Depot but is more than worth it.The case is very heavy duty, the belt clip is extremely strong and won't lose it's tension soon. When you retract the tape it gives a nice 'slam' at the end that feels substantial. The blade is nylon-armored and very stiff and combined with the very sturdy magnetic end makes for an actual 7' standout.More importantly it remains stable at distance and seems less prone to twisting. The blade lock works smoothly and is clearly able to withstand abuse. The most important variable is comfort. This tape is comfortable to hold due to the extreme grip of the rubberized coating.Item arrived promptly (Prime customer, baby!)* Don't expect to be able to drop the tape end and measure with one hand like with the Stanley, the blade always has to be extended with two hands.

BY FAR The Best Tape Measure I Have Used
I would normally never comment on a tape measure. They are a dime a dozen commodity product, and the high end ones are all of similar quality. To my surprise, this unit is by far the best of over 15 tape measures I have used. The features that stand out for me:- The magnet on the end of the tape is brilliant, and it is STRONG. I was able to place this on my refrigerator, pull out 23 feet away and then pull hard on the magnet without it giving in.- The tape itself is a thicker gauge of steel than what I have seen on other measures. I was able to pull out eight feet and have it just stay relatively straight out without bending.- The outside of the unit has rubber bumpers, which make it easy to grip but also pad it against hard knocks.Really just a superb product, and Komelon just went from no-name in my mind to high quality.

Almost perfect, very reasonably priced tape
This tape hits the mark (pun intended) on all points- sturdy, comfortable even for small hands, easy to read and on both the top and bottom of the tape, decent stand out, good pull back and nice magnet on the hook. There is only one annoying aspect. The rubber molded case surrounds the hook to form a straight base so the measure will stand on its own. But surrounding the hook prevents you from using one hand to hook the tape on the end of a board, you need to pull out the tape a bit with other hand to start the pull. I would prefer they re-design to let the hook stick out and the 'shoe" to make the tape stand up, have a setback.

Komelon 7130 Monster MagGrip 30ft Magnetic Tape Measure
Pros:- Sturdy Grip and Feel- Long tape breaking distance- Magnetic Ends- Nice color scheme- Rubber Armor- Includes Belt ClipCons:- LargeThoughts:Not sure what the colored dots on the ends are supposed to indicate, but they wore away pretty fast. It has a good grip on the body. The tape is very consistently constructed with a long breaking distance. It is a large unit, but the rubber helps with grip and protection. The locking mechanism is holding up pretty well. Belt clip is nice and tight. Held up way better than my craftsman against the non-skid deck.Bottom Line:Recommended!

Less rigid than expected. Very large foot on the bottom.
The housing seems durable. I expect it should last a while. The tape is not as rigid as I would have expected. When upside down it begins to twist at 12" and folds at 24". Basically useless upside down under 14". Luckily most projects aren't overhead and parallel to the ground. Upside right the tape collapses at 6-10" when carefully extending. Not bad, but should be further. The bottom foot of the housing is a little odd that it is so tall. It is 1/2" from the bottom of the tape but the metal cleat is only 7/16". See the cleat vs foot depth in the picture.. I prefer the tape to be closer to the bottom of the housing so the cleat can grab on in short distances and lay flat on surfaces. I'm guessing the design is to protect delicate hands from snap-back. So that might be a + for some buyers.I will keep it, but won't buy again.

Love it but no metric despite description
I had an older Stanley steel tape I've used for a decade or more, 30' but thinner steel. I could push out about 5 or 6 feet straight out unsupported before it would collapse. This one gets about 7 1/2 feet before it "breaks" and collapses. Makes it easier to get some of my measurements when I'm alone. The magnets on the end work great provided you have a surface to use them with.I miss the one I replaced that had a simple little rocker switch on the entire bottom of the unit that prevented movement of the tape, this one took a little getting used to, but for me the tradeoff was worth it since the other was metal and had no good grip surfaces on it whereas this one with the rubbery external surface is a breeze to keep a good grip on.Not being a contractor, just someone who does a lot of building around the house themselves to relax on the weekends, this is the best tape measure I've ever had. Great unit for the price.
