I see most people give this a bad review because they don't know how to work the light. If you use AAA batteries you need to remove the 1 inch alluminum spacer. This spacer is used for the the other battery application. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not a bad product *by W***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2017* Not a bad product and not a great one. The aren't as bright as some bike lights and I wish they were for my purposes. I have been flamed for wanting bright lights in another review but hey, I use them for night kayaking and for a 360* BWL (bright white light) as required in the California regulations and also in the USCG regulations for kayaking at night.I noticed several people complaining about the added extra spacer located on the body of the light or the light not working for them. This spacer is to adapt the light to accept an 18650 battery. This makes a big improvement over the 3 AAA batteries used in the plastic insert for length of use and for brightness. To use AAA batteries remove the insert and place batteries in the adapter and load it into the flightlight body. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect, after I read the info again! *by F***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2017* Was very excited to receive these as I wanted to surprise my husband and my daughter with lights for their new bikes, but held on to it till the bikes arrived. Since the storm was coming in and we needed flashlights on hand, I brought these out to have as back-up.When I assembled the AAA batteries however, following instructions as per (+) and (-), they would not come on. Once or twice it flashed but no matter how I manipulated these, they were non-functional. I was going to return them, even packaged and printed out return slip and all.Then I came back to the page and read the instructions. It said if using 3 AAA batteries, you don't need the middle part. Duh! I came back down, opened up the package, places the 3 AAAs again and took out the middle part. Bingo.
