From the tree limb down to the ground?** A: The swing will hang approximately 72" from its attachment (tree limb, swing set, etc.) when fully extended. It is adjustable, so can be as short as 40" or so. **Q: Do you need to buy hardware to attach this to a tree?** A: It is recommended. I ordered tree straps on Amazon from SuperBEARpower and they worked perfectly with this swing.
