I find it quite helpful, easier and faster for me than cutting an onion without it.
I cut the onion in half, push the fork into the half onion up to desired distance (it's not necessary to push it in all the way), slice through every other space of the fork, and without removing the fork I turn and cut the onion in the other direction up to both sides of the fork. Sometimes the edges of the onion fall off and I cut them separately. For much smaller pieces I cut the onion through every space of the fork, but it is not usually needed and it's a tad more difficult. Someday I would like a larger fork, but very happy with this one for now.

I really need a larger one that still has the teeth close enough to make thin slices like this one
I need this tool to help hold veggies while slicing them due to my limited hand use (MS). This particular one is small and difficult for me to hold. I really need a larger one that still has the teeth close enough to make thin slices like this one!

I don't know whether or not I cut onions faster, but I do like how well I am able to make everything even sized.

I don’t like my hands smelling like onions when I chop them up, so this is perfect for me! It not only holds the onion but it also makes the chopping process much easier too. It’s very good quality too!
