I was looking for a design that is a little less "floral", and more on the contemporary side. I found this checker pattern film and after spending about 30 minutes on measuring, cutting and attaching it, I'm very satisfied with the results. The film is a bit thicker than what you may expect, and that actually helps it when applying it to the window as it does not excessively curl as a thinner film does. I used a Window Film application kit (purchased separately), which simplified the installation process. In the end I get plenty of the daylight needed in the bathroom as well as full privacy.

Easy to put on and cut. Looks nice and modern simple design. Provides great privacy with only a shadow showing if the dog is standing right at the back door.

I've been wanting to do something to my bathroom window that didn't require blinds but still obstructed the view and allowed the sunlight in. I was delighted when the opportunity came along for me to try this frosted window film from Prestige Home Fashion.The instructions were super simple to read and follow. I was able to put the film up in a matter of minutes. I think it took longer to clean the window than apply the film. On that note, the window needs to be clean, even in the corners to ensure the film adheres to the window. If there are any imperfections on the glass, it will create a bubble in the film.Once I had it up, it was up! And looks amazing! The sun comes through the window and the film creating a unique ambience. There was more than enough of film to do my bathroom window. And the frosted pattern is enough privacy I do not need blinds. Super handy. This is the first kind of this product that I have purchased. I have not really had a need for it in the past, but now I do and I am glad I had the chance to purchase it when I did.First, when it was delivered the box was pretty odd-shaped, but I guess this is for a reason -- the product was as advertized, about 3 feet tall -- I haven't gone through the whole roll yet, but let us assume it is actually 6.5 feet long.In the box was the actual roll of film, "installation" instructions and an applicator to remove air bubbles.The details of the product are accurate -- it is indeed easy to cut. I struggled a bit with installation, but I guess because I'm not typically good with these things (I put it on the glass, but crooked). I was able to move it during installation to make it square. Overall the instructions are easy to follow, just don't goof around like me :).As far as it leaving residue on removal, I haven't had the need to remove it yet so I cannot comment. Overall, no issue post-installation. It certainly allows light in and provides a measure of privacy.I was fortunate enough to receive a discount code for my purchase. I am ninety five percent in love this this product and definitely plan to purchase again for my other products!I have had the checkered square privacy film up in a street facing window for two weeks now and so far I am a very happy customer! I have three small daughters, two of which have street facing windows in our home and it is something that has always bothered me, that strangers could walk up to their windows and see right inside. So when I heard about privacy film I jumped right on board! I'm not sure if the intended application is only for bathrooms and the like but this is ideal for my small daughters room!The film was relatively easy to install. I was bummed to read that to install I needed a soap solution spray bottle, a squeegee and an exacto knife, but we made do with a bottle of Windex, a kitchen spatula and a set of kitchen shears (and so can you!). Truly though, this has been my only disappointment, that I was unaware of the extra bits I needed to make the perfect application. These went up fairly easily, considering myself and a four year old did it together, I would say it was easy at least. ;p I let me daughter put stickers on her window film as well, which she was thrilled about since I never would have let her do so to the actual window panes. I wish the rolls were just a squee bit wider so I could get two window panes from the width, but if I had been more precise with my measuring and cutting I probably could have. My one application tip I have is to make the film slightly smaller than your window pane because when you're squeegeeing out the air and liquid the excess needs a place to squeeze out from between the window frame and the film.All in all I'm a huuuuuge fan, and will definitely be buying more in the future!I was not compensated in exchange for my review but I did purchase this at a discount or received it for free so I could provide an unbiased and honest review.
