Pro tip,1. if bolts don’t hold it together on reassembly, you have the bolts started on wrong side. Pro tip 2. After you fill, oiled mold, slip into refrigerator until metal cool to the touch. Or freezer if your lip formula tends to be really soft. Pro tip 4. If you have a square lip stick case, the lip stick doesn’t spin, you need to line up the wedge of lipstick with a flat side of the case, unless you want it sideways for rest of use. Pro tip 4. I have a tiny glass pitcher with a handle. The thicker bottom held the heat from microwave, poured easily into mould. I found it at a thrift store, love it even more after using it to make lipstick so easy, it’s about 2 ounce size. Pro tip 5. If your formula is too soft, add a bit of beeswax until you get the firmness you want. Color check as you go, adding colorants to adjust for lipsticks into batches. I love using all my old lipsticks(never really liked the color), eye shadow fine color powder and foundation to tint the lip color into different looks. I love a good rose color and heavy pigment (rouge). Years ago I had a Lancôme lip gloss called Enchanted. It’s long discontinued, but was a soft Rose with Gold luminosity. I thought, why not? I on my last batch I added a whole square of a fine golf eyeshadow and got a color extremely close to my old favorite. I have tried many time to buy the same look in a lipstick. These all contributed to my melt down stock! It’s amazing what you can achieve with the right tools and ingredients. In the past, I used the silicone style mold and way harder than this, plus this makes 6 verses 4 at a time. So easy to use and pop chilled lipsticks into the new cases(reused). Easy to wipe down and re-use. I couldn’t be happier. The firm formula had a smooth finish. There is a bit of a line on sides from the mould. If you don’t want that the silicone is a good option.

This was almost fourty bucks and I thought it would be more of a kit... this just came with the cheap aluminum mold. Maybe stuff was missing from the box? I will update this review after I put together some supplies to actually be able to use it. for now, I cannot recommend it: 2 stars.
