Safe, stable board holder for martial arts
I have been training in martial arts for over four years. We have board breaking clinics 2-3 times a year. However, I desire to do board breaking at least weekly. I have looked at a few different board holders and this is one that was the most versatile. It can be used on the ground, as you would with a pair of concrete blocks. It can be handheld. It can be secured to the wall. What comes in the box?ScrewdriverHolderSupport poleTwo impact bagsDVD (I did not watch it since the YouTube videos were adequate)No hard copy instructionsThe holder is composed of a few components: the arms, the base/pads, the support pole.Assembly takes about 5 minutes out of the box. There are two plates secured on the back with Phillips screws/screwdriver. There are two adhesive silicone pads that are placed on the contact point of the arms. A Velcro strap keeps the pole components together, and then a second strap keeps the arms in place. This system requires no additional tools, as the screwdriver is provided. They provide a spacious gym bag for carrying the holder.Setup once you've done it a few times, takes 3-4 minutes. Attach the arms by snapping them into place (horizontal or vertical), attach the bungee cables over the arms and at the base, and then assemble/pass the support rod through the base. Two impact bags are provided to absorb impact. As this can be supported by the pole or handheld, it's versatile for board breaking demonstrations and clinics. The person supporting the holder doesn't have to worry about injury to the eyes from splinters or being accidentally hit by a broken board (assuming the person on the other side is doing her or his part).Using two wooden screws, the support pole can be snapped into the wall mounted holder. However, if you're support wall is drywall, then you need to attach a 4x2 to the wall for reinforcement. I secured the clamps to a stud in my basement. Attaching the support to the clamp takes a few seconds. The upper clamp is secured by a cotter pin.The support pole and base can be adjusted for the practitioner's height. It uses two large bolts on either end of the base. The arms can support up to 5 boards. It maintains friction through the silicone adhesive stickers. Then the bungee keeps the boards in place. I personally recommend using a board that has a rubber type backing or padding. It gives more friction to stay in place. Straight plastic will not hold, and you will need something to keep them in place, such as adhesive rubber pegs that you can get in a retail or hardware store (those things that are used on pot holders). I used the Century and Pro Force rebreakable boards. Any standard breakable board will also work.I broke several boards in the upright and horizontal position, and this takes the punishment. The holder is ABS plastic. The impact bags are just thin bags with foam and nylon shell. The support rods (heavy and lightweight) screw into each other by some plastic sleeve.I was pleased with my purchase, and the videos on the company website were very helpful. It shipped out of Canada and took about 2 weeks to arrive by FEDEX Ground. The warranty is only 30 days. Parts can be replaced/purchased. This is made in China.

Can’t just mount to a wall.
Apparently, I missed somewhere that to install this in a home you need to reinforce your wall. So, that sucks. I definitely wouldn’t have purchased if I had known that.

Yeah, it is expensive, but worth it
This is the product for board breaking and we have been very pleased with it. I did not expect that it would mount on the wall as easily as it did.
