I originally bought a different set of "1-inch" grommets. I drilled 1-inch diameter holes but the grommets were too loose. So next, I wrapped tape around the grommet to make the fit tighter, but the grommet material is so slick, the tape would not stay on for very long. I was thinking of trying to glue the grommet in place when I returned to Amazon to research other options. After a lot of searching, I came across these ones, which are slightly larger than 1-inch. I figured it was worth a try. They are perfect. They fit in a 1-inch snuggly and don't pop out. Don't waste your time doing your own research. Just buy these and be confident that they will work with a 1-inch hole.

I drilled a one inch hole in my hardwood floor (in a corner) to run an ethernet cable. This worked perfectly to hold the cable and hide the hole. As such, I will not have sleep on the couch.

Very flexible, not brittle. Fits perfectly into 1 inch hole. Much better quality, at a lower price, than at the big box store. The white is not too bright or grayish. I'm using on a white painted desk and blends in nicely.

These grommets were easy to install and they feel like the aren’t going anywhere. I had to run an HDMI cable for my son’s Nintendo Switch through a wall. I simply used a 15/16 inch circular hole drill bit on each side of the wall and plugged the holes with these grommets. The head of the HDMI cable was about 3/4 of an inch wide, and I was worried it might not fit through, but it did. But that’s about the widest item that I think will pass through this grommet.
