This compass is unique in it's beauty. The design and the color of the metal makes it stand out above all others. I will forever treasure this piece. This compass will be, if not already, yearned by hikers, explorers and artist of all cultures and let's add collectors to the list. I recommend this item to everyone.

Its not the best quality. The hinge showed up twisted and sometimes it won't snap shut and other times it wont open. But my kid loves it and feels like a real pirate with it so thats what matters. I would buy again if needed

Had it engraved for a baby gift. Had great weight and looked really nice. No idea if its accurate though... not a camper

Just because something is inexpensive doesnt me it has to be poorly built. This compass looks good with the lid closed but as soon as it opens its very wobbly. When you see how the hinge and pin were assembled youll probably laugh. As long as you dont use this compass it will last. I was very disappointed with this piece of garbage. Im not sure what others were seeing when writing their reviews.Pro: looks cool feels nice in hand (with lid closed) and it actually points north.Con: poorly built, flimsy, feels like lid is going fall off.I guess what should i expect for 20 or so dollars. Ill bet even Wal Mart would have something more durable.

This is absolutely gorgeous. It looks perfectly antiques. It's also significantly larger and heavier than expected!

I was able to fix it but it is weak and inaccurate.

This compass is fine as a young boys adventure gift, but it is not a functional compass. The needle takes a long time to settle in, and is very jumpy. And the needle is as dark as the compass background behind it, so it is very difficult to see. Not well made, but serves the purpose of creating some adventure.
