Hard to work with
It looked easy to put down in the video, but was ridiculously difficult. Using one’s foot to unroll it simply did not work. It is very sticky -a good thing- but stuck to itself- a bad thing- and can’t be unstuck. It literally takes 2 to lay it: one to unroll it by pulling & twisting it side to side while the other tries to hold it down on the carpet. Actually, 3 people worked the best: one holds the roll while the other 2 hold each side and pull. Great idea but Would not buy again.

Negative Reviews are Due to User Error
Reading other reviews, I was worried it would be difficult to install by myself. I had the initial idea to use small dumbbell weights to hold down the ends of the roll as I applied the film to the carpet. This strategy worked well, though after I got the hang of it, I found the weights no longer necessary. The trick is to take your time and move methodically, and start with the ends facing you, so that you can use your own body (knees) to hold down the edges as you work forward, unrolling away from your body. I was also careful never to trim the film so close to the roll that the edges would re-adhere to it, which would make it somewhat difficult to peel back off again (think of it as giant sticky saran wrap, but thicker). Smooth down the film every few inches as you work, and hot tip, vacuum your carpet before applying. The only places I found it didn't stick extremely well were areas that I missed when vacuuming and therefore had more dust. This product worked EXACTLY as I had hoped. It stayed in place and protected my carpet for the entire duration I was having work done in my home. It even withstood my 80 pound dog's claws running up and down the stairs. When pulling it up, it left my carpet intact and didn't pull any threads. Worth every penny. 5 stars!

Hard to pull apart but great product
I need this to protect my carpet from my small dogs. It works well. It takes two people to install it though. One at each end. Very hard to pull and separate it from the roll, but it does the job. I have potty pads for my dogs but they don't always land on it correctly, thus the carpet protection too. 4 stars just because it's hard to pull.

Worked great
We wanted to protect our carpet as we moved furniture and boxes into our new home. Putting it down is definitely a 2 person job, and we were prepared for that after reading other reviews. It stayed in place well and did its job. We also used 2 people to take it up again, as it did pull the carpet up a little as the protector was lifted. Everything was fine and the carpet is still clean!

Worthless
With two people, one stabilizing the end and the other attempting to unroll - complete garbage. so adhered that it completely destroyed any attempt to lay this crap down. After multiple attempts - entire roll into garbage. In our experience using this on a contracted job - worthless - specifically so adhered that no way it would ever unroll in a clean and uniform fashion. Total waste of money!!!!!!

The wider the roll the more difficult to apply
This product is REALLY durable. I've used it before but with 24" width, vs 30" this time. I found that due to the width of 30" it was very difficult for one man to unroll... not easy to adhere to carpet/rug and just "Unwind". We put it on a 12 long stretch of area rug, and when applying enough pressue to unwind, it was enough to pull up the rug. On nailed-down carpet it shouldn't be an issue. If you are going to apply to anything not nailed down, I suggest the following: 1. Place a dowel (broom handel works) in the middle of the roll to make it easier to unwind. 2. Have someone with a strong grip hold on to both ends of the dowel. 3. The other person can begin pulling on the plastic sheet to unwind. Once started, don't stop or let go. If it gets loose along the process, and sticks to itself, don't bother trying to salvage it.... just start over. 4. Pull enough plastic out in a single strip to exceed the desired lenght by AT LEAST 6" on each end. 5. With the plastic pulled tight, but not to the point of putting enought power on it to stretch the surface tight, the both people need to lower the plastic sheet in place exactly where you want it. There is no do "over" if you want the application to look it's best. This stuff is bullit proof. I know it will withstand anything but a blade.

Great
Bought this to move into a new home. Left it on the carpet for about 3 weeks while we slowly moved in. Did all the heavy traffic areas and steps. Wasn’t slippery even on days when we had snow on our feet. Shout out Detroit weather <3 Very durable and easy to remove.
