I'm a size 10 and I got a large. They fit well, after reading the reviews I was a little hesitant, but I'm glad I made the purchase! I'd say they're a mid-rise short, not a high waist, but I already knew that from the other reviews and was okay with that. I had mine a little more open on the sides so I probably could have gone up a size, but I didn't want to get the size bigger and then them not be open at all on the sides. The material is stretchy so they were comfortable - I wore them to an all-day music festival and didn't have any issues with them.
