Good flavor! No more chopping onions!

I have used Lighthouse dried red onion for at least 3 years. We had never replaced fresh onion with a dried one! I use this when cooking crockpot meat recipes love with chuck roast ! Very good with refrigerator foods such as tuna salad,chicken salad , egg salad and so on. Any kind of soup that ask for onion. Beef stew,spaghetti, pork chops pork roast. When friends and people at pot kicks ask for my recipes they can not believe I use freeze dried onions they can not believe it. It must be Lighthouse dried red onions.

I use this often especially when I don’t feel like cutting up an onion. It does clump a little in the bottle but I guess that’s natural. The flavor is very good. Even my onion hating brother likes it since it’s tiny pieces. Success!!!

Handy to have in your pantry when you need them and don't want to run to the store.

A very nice way to add garlic to my diet.

From the reviews I expected much more flavore from the onions and garlic I tried. I did add some directly to a dish while cooking as well as hydrated them before adding to a dish. Yes, its convenient, but still not the same as adding fresh to a dish. I am going to try adding them both to soups next and see if there is a difference. I bought the double pack of both, so I have a lot to use up yet, but Im not sure if I would buy them again. The basil was very good and I do want to try more of the herbs. Full flavored and the leaves keep much of their color unlike air dried leaves which tend to turn an unappealing grey/brown.
