Where was this gadget!?! I started working full time this year and my time to weed has diminished significantly. In that time, clover and Bermuda grass took over my vegetable garden, growing around everything. Guys, I cleared a 4ftx8ft bed in one hour with this!! It literally sliced under clover roots and they came up in slices! I was able to dig out Bermuda grass from my cinder block holes. Totally worth the purchase. No clue how long it will hold up, but i'm assuming if taken care of it will last a long time. The blade is also made in a way that I could sharpen it with my kitchen knife sharpener. So happy with this!!!

I do a lot of weeding and I'm very particular about my weeding tools. I happened across a listing for this Japanese quality weeding tool and thought I would give it a try. The blade slices through the ground beneath the weeds allowing me to extract the weeds with the root intact with little effort. Great for hard ground as well as crab grass and a multitude of other shallow rooted weeds. Obviously not what you would use for dandelions, as a Hori Hori knife would be the right tool for deep tap roots. But this tool has enabled me to clear large swaths of weeds in a fraction of the time as I was doing when just pulling them out with my hands. A true game changer! Well-built and now my favorite "go to" weeding tool. Yes, you need to be on your hands and knees for this type of tool and because it is crafted of carbon steel, clean the dirt off, dry it and wipe it with an oily rag and it will last forever.

It's a remarkable gardening too. You can get under the roots and get the whole eed out. The only reason I gave a 4 is because I have another similarIt's a great edition to your usual hand tools for gardening tool that fits my small arthritic hands better.

I discovered this tool while volunteering in someone else's garden and had to get one for myself because it is by far the best weeding tool I've ever used. This one looks almost exactly the same as one that I found at a big box store for double the price, only the label was slightly different. I've had mine for a couple months now and used it a lot, it's still very sharp and has not rusted since I clean it after each use. Favorite gardening tool! Would make a great gift for any gardener. I don't till my soil and this has made my life much easier because now when my weeds get out of control, I can clear them out within a day or two. I chop and drop almost everything and this pulls the roots up as well as chops leaves and grass like butter.

This tool is perfect for maintaining a weedless area. This spring I reclaimed a large plot that has been fallow for about 5 years to grow sweet corn. Heavily overgrown with pigweed, knot grass and poke as well as crabgrass and johnson grass. Once I cleared the bulk, I used this tool to attack the roots. You will never get them all but once crop was planted I was able to work around the stalks with precision confidence. Prettiest corn plot I have ever grown and already harvesting full ears that the weeds would've stunted by stealing water and minerals. Highly recommend this well made precision tool.

It is impossible to write a review about this amazing tool without sounding hyperbolic or just plain old crazy, but I will try... This tool changed my relationship with gardening. I hate weeding more than just about anything. I hate it like poison. Weeding is a dreadful task. Until I got this thing... When I first opened the package, I was very disappointed; it is very small, very light. Honestly, it looks like something one would use to spread frosting on a cake. But when I gave it a go on my severely overgrown veggie garden I was amazed at how effortlessly it cut through weeds -- even in super dry packed clay soil! This thing ran through even the toughest weeds like butter on a hot biscuit! Completely effortlessly! I actually ENJOYED weeding the garden!!! I will buy a couple more of these as I have not used it enough to determine how long it stays sharp and frankly, at the low cost of these, I would rather buy a couple to have on hand than to have to sharpen it before use.

Wow!! This thing is sharp!! It will be perfect for digging up weeds and roots! It wasn't very expensive and has a nice handle. Impressed!!!!
