Great value digital piano with an authentic feel, perfect for learning and home recording
I bought the Casio CDP‑S110BK as a way to return to piano after having lessons as a child, and it’s been a brilliant choice. I’m currently setting up a basic home recording studio, and this keyboard has slotted into that plan perfectly. I’ve connected it to my MacBook Pro using a UGREEN USB cable (sold separately), and it works seamlessly with Logic Pro for both MIDI input and simple recording. The piano itself is very easy to use. The sound has a convincing likeness to a real acoustic piano, and the weighted keys feel authentic enough for someone like me who’s learning again and wants to build proper technique. It’s also surprisingly compact and light, which makes it easy to move out of the way when I’m not practising. A couple of practical touches stand out: • The included music stand is just wide enough for three sheets of A4 manuscript, which is ideal when I’m working through exercises. • It also holds my iPad Air securely when I’m using learning apps. I’ve added a short video clip so you can hear what it sounds like in a real home setup. My only minor criticism is the sustain pedal. It works, but it’s very basic and feels a bit flimsy. That said, at the current price of £255.00 (at the time of review in early March 2026), it’s hard to complain, and it doesn’t take anything away from this being a solid five‑star purchase. Overall, a fantastic entry‑level digital piano that’s perfect for learners, returners, and anyone wanting a compact instrument that also plays nicely with recording software.

Fantastic for the price
Having just retired and returning to the keyboard after a long absence I spent a lot of time looking at reviews and trying a couple of friend’s keyboards before deciding on this one and I am more than happy with my choice. I originally ignored the Casio brand as I thought it was for children only, how wrong I was. For a start, the design means that I can have a full-sized keyboard taking up a very small amount of space. I’ve made my own stand for it and wife now happy as I haven’t taken up too much of her precious space ('Happy wife, happy life’!). It has a solid, quality feel about it and the minimalist number of buttons means that it looks good as well. The keys are nicely weighted, though they do make slightly more movement noise than I expected but with the decent headphones I use that’s irrelevant. Talking of which the speakers are adequate but no more, understandable considering the instrument’s footprint, lower notes especially lose a lot, so headphones or an external amp/speaker would be advisable. The supplied quick-start manual is adequate but the downloadable full manual is better, giving far more information. The few extra ‘voices’ seem reasonable, a nice pipe organ for that ‘gothic feel, and the ability to change the tone of the main piano is nice. A good feature that it is a single press button to get back to the main piano sound. The only small issue I found was that an existing pedal I had seemed to work in reverse for some reason (worked fine on another keyboard) so sustained when off, normal when pressed. The supplied ’switch-type’ pedal works fine though. There is a 3-month free subscription to a tutoring website which some may find useful, but as it was very American I tried it but didn’t bother. All in all I can definitely recommend this as the best budget piano keyboard I have found.

This is a great first Digital Piano with a more than acceptable sound.
What I really like about this digital piano is the simplicity of it in design and the bonus sophistication when connecting to a MIDI set-up via USB. I've seen plenty of comments about the sound being not authentic enough and I would say that to my ear the sound is more than acceptable. In terms of playing the weighted keyboard and touch sensitivity feels like a genuine piano and the sound matches my playing. Personally I like the textured keys and find them an improvement compared to a MIDI controller I had with smooth semi-weighted keys. There are two features which really do set it apart; the first is the inclusion of audio-in. This means I can connect my piano to my iPad via USB to have my software track my playing and then hear my instruction through the keyboard via an audio lead from the iPad to the keyboard. The second feature being its battery powered. The speakers are rear facing but if you look closely at either end of the keyboard you'll see two grills which provide just enough sound forward to you for you to hear the keyboard without having to crank up the volume. And whatever you do in tweaking the sound via the function I love that the grand piano button gives you your default piano sound back at the push of a button. While this is a portable keyboard, it still weighs quite a bit. It's not going to be suitable for a teenager to cart around to and from school, the Roland Go (my previous keyboard) would be a better choice. But as an instrument for their room or in the home, this is would be my go-to recommendation for anyone. And the money you'll save compared to the Yamaha P45 or Roland equivilent will more than cover the cost of a better damper pedal. My only thought to buying a more expensive keyboard would be if you wanted to have a 3 pedal unit - but for most beginners you won't need that. The accompanying app is okay but isn't a learn the piano tool, in my opinion. However it does allow you to unlock and configure some of the more advanced features if you need them. But for casual playing and practice you won't.

Review of Casio CDP-S110BK Digital Piano
The Casio CDP-S110BK turned out to be an excellent choice among budget digital pianos. I was especially pleased with its compact size and lightweight design — it’s easy to move and set up even in a small room. The keys have a pleasant weighted feel, making the playing experience close to that of an acoustic piano. The sound is clean and rich, especially with the piano tones. The built-in speakers are loud enough for home use, and when using headphones, the sound becomes even more immersive. Connecting it to a computer or mobile device is simple, and it works perfectly with learning apps. For beginner musicians and those looking for a compact, high-quality digital piano for home use, this is an excellent choice. Casio has once again proven it can combine affordability, great sound, and ease of use

Absolutely incredible product!
If you are in the market for a full sized digital piano, on a budget, I would highly recommend this. I played piano/organ in my youth, over 25 years ago, and have long wanted to get back to learning/playing the piano. I finally decided to take the plunge. I did a LOT of research, watching dozens of videos. First thing to note (and bearing in mind, that I fully appreciate everything is personal preference, and this review is just my opinion), is that this digital piano comes with weighted keys. I personally believe this is so important, if you have any aspiration to ever play or perhaps own an acoustic piano. There is no doubt that this Casio doesn't feel exactly like an acoustic piano, but they have done an amazing job at making it feel very close, even trying to replicate the feel of the ivory type keys - the weighted keys will also significantly help develop your finger strength. The sound from the piano speakers, in my view, is also very good. It's interesting, because I noted that this was raised in a number of reviews, that the sound from this Casio was not great - I'm not sure however what anyone was expecting, especially given the £250 price tag. This is, of course, not a Steinway Grand piano, and clearly if you have over £500 to spare, then you will get better from a Roland, for example , but the important bit has to be the price, and for me, for the price you are paying, the sound is very nice and crisp and gets to a pretty reasonable volume, to more than fill any sitting room at home. Another important thing, when carrying out my research on these pianos, is that this Casio has a sustain pedal included (an essential item for your piano learning/playing journey) (costs around £20 separately) - now, tbf, I have seen many reviews that recommend the Donner sustain pedal, for example, at about £15, so this is not a huge extra expense, but if your budget it tight, it is one thing to bear in mind, and it is just handy that it comes there in the box, ready to use. The only minor point I would make is that Casio advertise this piano as having "lightweight design" - it is not lightweight by any definition in my book, weighing nearly 11kg and at 130cm wide, it is quite cumbersome I would say to move around. I know this as initially I intended to keep the piano stored away, and just get out and put on a table when I want to practice, but now I have decided to find a designated spot in my house and get a stand for it to go on and stay in situ, which will actually be much better for playing anyway - however, just something to bear in mind, that I would not think of this digital piano as being especially portable and not something you would recommend to get out of a cupboard regularly. Other than this minor point, this is a fantastic purchase, highly recommended!

We both love it - buy with confidence
My daughter loves our keyboard. I bought it to teach myself to play again and though I do play on occasion the keyboard is now in my daughter’s room and she is now learning to play. She likes how much like an actual piano the keyboard is and she’s not wrong this keyboard is so accurately sized and weighted. The battery life was quite short for the amount she was playing it so I ended up buying a charger and now it’s plugged in at all times so she can play without worrying. She uses some of the features but mostly just loves playing. I spent a lot of time searching for the right keyboard and I am so glad I picked this one! Buy with confidence.

Good but not the best
Piano is good quality, hammer weighted action is good feel too. But the sound is only an ‘Okay’ quality. For a musical instrument this is a major defect. At least 2 keys on the right side where the sound is higher pitched gave out a blurry sound, like a badly recorded sound file from the 1990s. All the other key sounds were good but as these 2 keys were affected and it takes you out of the immersion when you are playing and this can become extremely distracting. This is an electric piano so it obviously relies on pre-recorded sounds. For the money you pay you would expect them to at least make them high quality sounds.

Sounds good
The keys are a bit clacky sounding and thats the only problem I have with it. When headphones are used other people in the room can hear the keys clacking. Otherwise it is fine. If you are a new learner I suggest piano nanny com for free learning. I bought the appropriate cable to attach to my tablet or phone. There are apps for piano lessons. It is a heavy device. The keys are weighted. Don't forget to remove the tape from the front of the keys upon removing it out of the box. Its hard to see the tape that is used to keep the keys from pressing during shipping. The keys are weighted. There are not many voices on it but I am ok with that. I will buy a midi keyboard if I want those. The instructions are easy to understand. Anyway its really good for beginners. The casio app they have for it is awful. Freezes up any device I have tried it on. Use caution.
