Needs a warning!!!!
Update #2: warning sticker is on the product now (they sent me a new one) Update: the owner heard my concern and is taking action on it. How cool of him: "I will be working to put a sticker on the packaging to highlight this product feature to help future users understand the adapter permanently attaches." Original review: CRAP!!!! This thing is PERMANENT with its female fitting. I took it out of the package and tried it out on the nearest plug and it won't come off. Now it's stuck on my backup laptop cord that I hardly ever use. Lame! I'm sure it works fine if you have it on the plug you want it on.

READ CAREFULLY! PERMANENTLY ATTACHES TO YOUR CORD.
Evidently, like so many others now that I read the reviews, I did not get that you can ONLY ever use it on ONE plug. And Iโm not about to buy a bunch of them that defeats the ground. So to make it work, youโd need to unscrew the ground on the outlet, plug n the appliance that has been PERMANENTLY affixed to the end of the appliance and then attach the grounding screw again. Then you have to reverse the procedure just to unplug the appliance. I was expecting the plug to be reused on different appliances, so for me, it has no value. From a marketing standpoint, seeing as how as many others experienced the same issue, IT SHOULD BE VERY PROMINENT, LIKE THIS, THAT THE DEVICE CAN ONLY EVER BE USED ON ONE DEVICE, like this, so it is not misunderstood. Besides that, the little hook does not catch on my outlet anyway, forcing you to use the ground screw method of attachment anyway, even if the appliance does not have a ground. I guess if you really read the instructions carefully, it happens to work on your outlets, and you are willing to deal with removing and reattaching the ground screw every time, it would be OK. I do not fall into that category. Nice idea. Poor implementation. Now in all fairness, they do mention the fact it attaches permanently, but I donโt think it is as prominent as it should be.

Not worth the price
Lock is permanent unless you break it off. You'd think something so small but expensive would provide you the ability to unlock both sides. Prongs still stick out slightly when pulled so not that safe. Was using this for a baby monitor, decided to just put a reciprocal box around the outlet instead. Which meant prying this apart. Now it's unusable.

Great product, works as expected
Great product, works as expected! I'm surprised this technology hasn't been invented previously, I've done my research and this is literally the only device that allows you to lock any corded device into an outlet. I attached the LOCK in PLUG to two of my plugs -- a two prong and a three prong cord. As described, the lock in plug permanently attaches to the male prongs of both cords, which is great because now I've upgraded my plugs and don't plan on taking them off (my vacuum and a lamp that my daughter always tries to pull out of the wall). The permanent attachment of the LOCK in PLUG makes sense -- most items you're locking down won't be removed from the wall outlet (that's why you're locking it in). If you are going to remove the cord from the wall, then it's likely attached to a cord that you want it to stay permanently attached to such as a vacuum cleaner, extension cord, power tool, refrigerator, etc. I see some people have left negative reviews about the plug permanently attaching to their cords, but this feature is called out in multiple places: packaging, instructions, and Amazon description. I will definitely consider purchasing more as needed, I wish they sold in a multi-pack with a cheaper unit cost.

Great permanent plug in!
Love that this permanently holds the cord you choose. That part of ours works perfectly. But it doesn't click into place within the outlet- it could be our outlet. It pulls out just as easily as a regular plug without holding the button in. I just screwed it to the outlet cover instead and that works just fine. Still seems to be worth the money, as now the kiddos can't unplug it!!!

Useful but doesn't lock into my outlets
I bought these plugs because my cats kept knocking a lamp plug out of the outlet. Lock in Plug comes with a warning that once you insert the plug, you can't remove it. That was OK with me. Lamp plug was indeed captured securely by the Lock in Plug. However, the Lock in Plug does not lock into my home's outlets. I can just pull it out. The instructions say that, if this happens, use the screw in the middle of the outlet cover plate to secure the Lock in Plug. I did this. This begs the question: if the Lock in Plug securely captures the lamp cord, and you have to screw it to the outlet, wouldn't it be simpler to dispense with the lock/release mechanism? Maybe the locking mechanism will work with some outlets. I can't say. It doesn't work with mine.

Great for vacuum & switch outlet
Works great, I purchased two of them, put one on my vacuum cleaner which works awesome, keeps it in the wall instead of pulling out every time you go a little too far. The other I put on my lamp that's hooked up to an outlet which is on a switch. My son would always take the lamp out to plug in electronics and such, and now he just finds another outlet. Love these things.

THIS DOES NOT WORK!
Nope. Nope. NOPE! Doesn't work at all. You're supposed to be able to use the side button release to remove the plug from the outlet (that locks it into the outlet). Doesn't work. The entire unit pulled out of the outlet with a firm pull. So I screwed it into the outlet (it has an option to screw it into the outlet cover screw). That works fine. Claims to"permanently" attach to the plug you're using. 1000 nopes. My 7 year olds, SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS, can pull on it with enough force to remove it from the "permanent" locking attachment. I bought 4, just in case. On number 3 and it's not holding up. This is complete bullshit. Don't waste your $. So many frowns, if I could give it negative stars, I would.
