(well clay) and have seen the improvements. - We had been doing research on the many benefits of clay including discussions with several people who use clay as part of their overall body health. When I first heard about eating clay, I was very skeptical and a disbeliever but now I've been converted as I've has seen the improvements in others including our son (with ADHD). This book does an excellent job in explaining why and how clays work, which clays to use, and different ways to use it. If you're a new dirty eater like us, highly recommend you read this book to help you get more educated on why clay is good for the body. It's a quick read (took me less than an hour) and worth the investment. Review: I am happy I am doing it now - I needed encouragement as to why I should eat/drink clay. It repulsed me the very thought of drinking clay. But the author is very encouraging and informative, and between this read and the reviews on the clay I purchased, I decided to put aside my negative thinking and try this stuff. I am happy I am doing it now. I got over the mental part of it by adding a spoonful of Walden's no sugar, no carb chocolate syrup to my glass and a touch of cinnamon, and realized, "I can do this." After using it for several weeks I found I do feel better. I really do think it is helping my arthritis problems, because when I forgot to take it for a couple of weeks, the pain symptoms returned. So I'm glad for the book. Thanks!

Excellent Resource
I had read previously about the practice of eating clay to detoxify the digestive system and wanted to learn more. Ran Knishinsky discusses cultures around the world that traditionally eat clay for religious and dietary reasons, as well as to supplement scarce food supplies during times of famine. It turns out that eating clay has a long and rich history, going back to the Roman physician Pliny, the Taoist healer known as Mud-pill Ch'en, and even Mahatma Ghandi. Prestigious journals such as The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and The Canadian Journal of Microbiology have published findings on the health advantages of eating clay. According to the author, just one teaspoon per day mixed with water or juice, or sweetened with honey or essential oils, can cure any kind of gastrointestinal problem, from poisoning to influenza to cholera to dysentery! The author says it's also helpful for treating hay fever, arthritis, tooth decay, viruses, bacteria, acne, circulation, eczema, cleansing the liver of toxins, and many other conditions. Easy to read and very informative: I tore through it in two days.

Loved this book
Loved this book! It's a small read really (at least for me) but this is a nice introduction to whoever is wanting to dive into the edible clay world. If you are looking for something more of external clay use then this may not be your book, though Ran Knishinsky goes over it but very briefly. He even recommends to purchase The Healing Power Of Clay: The Natural Remedy by Michel Abehsera if that is what you're looking for. The only thing that I would have really liked more is having the resource guide updated but overall this book has been an eye-opener!

The Clay Cure
This is a nice introductory book to the subject of using clay for healing. It is easy to read and you can find the answers about different types of clay and how to use clay to rid your body of toxins. I would recommend this book to any person who is interested in trying clay to better their health. It made me interested in finding out more about clay and what it can do for you. I purchased the book from Amazon . com. The service was quick and efficient.

Find his new book, it's worth a read
I think this book is out of stock, but there is a new book by the same author. It is worth a read, and it works on psoriasis. A teaspoon a day mixed in water for 2 or 3 months will eliminate this miserable condition. I know after years of trying to find something that worked, this was it, CLAY. Don't give up it is good for many things. An old remedy my doctor told me, one not in use today. It's a little hard for a doctor to suggest one to eat dirt.

The Clay cure
I got the book, and read it. The reason I purchased is that 17 years ago a woman told me her story, and I wanted to understand. Doctors suspected that she had breast cancer, and somebody that was living the natural cures (transmitted through generations), recommended her to wear some sort of a poultice made of a special (color) clay in the affected area. After 6 months it went away on its own. I think that was not cancer, probably some nodules. Never the less the clay did it's job, even if not eaten. Therefore there are some therapeutic properties that are worth studying and knowing. Aren't there more documented studies done here in the US, that can shed some light? I am not convinced that having a nodule or tissue growth I would start eating clay after reading this book, but it might have some merit.

thorough and easy to read
I have been looking for a book summarizing the benefits of taking clay internally, how much to take, when to take it and how to take it. I also wanted to know of any drawbacks or things I should consider when taking the clay. This book answers all my questions and makes me feel good about going ahead with clay supplementation. It is a quick read. It clearly lays forth an easy program with which I can follow.

This is a good introductory book exploring the uses of clay. I have a large open wound where a scab the size of a nickel has formed. Every time I apply a clay police the scab noticeable shrinks (2 times a day). I’m guessing the clay is absorbing the dead skin of the scab. It appears to be accelerating the healing. I’ve been using food grade clay internally for years and only just now tried using it externally. This book motivated me to try it on my wound...I’m impressed! UPDATE: after 5 days of using clay on an open gouged wound the scab was coming away too quickly, leaving more of an open wound, so I stopped. Now the wait to heal completely.

A really interesting book on the possibilities of clay eating for health. It's a simple to read book with no lengthy scientific explanations so as a starter book and a reference book for the future I can recommend it. I have started taking clay based on the advice in this book. Please note that the uk authorities are warning about some clays and toxic levels of some elements. Search for "consumer warning on clay reissued". As a result of this I could only see two brands of good quality edible clay on the UK market right now. One is from the German company 'Luvos' and the other from the uk company "Aluna's Garden" (their edible variety to be in stock May 2015 the owner tells me).
