Is it machine washable? How do you clean it?

Thank you for your question. Yes, this can be machine washed. Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low. No bleach. No fabric softener.

The description reads, “performance knit fabric,” but what is the actual fabric used?

Thank you for your question. The material is 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex

Do I need to wash this before the first use?

I didn't wash mine. It was in plastic packaging and it smelled brand new when I took it out so I found no need to wash it. I guess it's more of a personal preference
