Also cutting with pinking shears will help some with the fraying. I do not like any brand except Fray Check I actually returned the Aleene's Stop Fraying that I bought because it left a white gunky film on the fabric that I could not remove, so I was very unhappy with the product. Fray check dries clear and goes on clear but be sure to place a piece of cardboard or something under the fabric when you put on or it will bleed onto the surface on which the fabric is lying. I actually returned the Aleen's Fray Stop product because it was pasty white, thick and left a white residue on the cotton fabric I put it on and the fabric became very stiff too. I have gone back to using only Dritz Fray Check, which they sell on Amazon and at sewing stores. It is a clear product that dries clear on the fabrics I have used it on, and the fabric has it's pretty much normal texture when it dries. Be sure to put a piece of cardboard under your fabric when putting on the Fray Check because it can bleed through the fabric and leave a film on whatever surface you are working on. I am not sure why you would need a fray check product though, if you already ironed a fusible interfacing like Wonder Under or Press & Steam to your appliqué and the project you are working on because I believe the interfacing should stop the fabric from fraying. I am not sure how well the interfacing holds up after washing, so that might be a reason to put on Fray Check. I have not done a lot of appliqué projects on items that will be washed a lot, mostly only pillows tops that aren't washed much, and I satin stitched around the appliqué, so don't anticipate the appliqué fraying.
