Sprayed this on my new rug and the spray did give off some smell but I had the windows open and the smell was gone very quickly. Purchasing another bottle for my other rug. Worth the money. It did not change the feel or texture of the rug. Also, I did not have any issues with the sprayer and was super easy to use without leaks or any issues.

I needed a water/stain protector for new canvas shoes I bought. I happened to have a can of Scotchguard automotive upholstery protection in my garage, so I got that. The aerosol can had been sitting in the garage for a couple of years, but I figure I'd try it anyway, as it was barely used. It wouldn't spray.... the gas in it had dissipated completely, so I had to throw a full can away sprayed only once. Since Scotchgard only sells their product in aerosol cans, I went looking for a fabric protector that didn't use such a wasteful and environmentally bad packaging method again. I saw this, the ratings seemed high, and I purchased it for that reason. This was literally double the price of the Scotchgard, but if I'm not throwing most of it away if I can't use it up at once, it is still the better deal. I sprayed it on my canvas shoes, the smell wasn't too bad, and I could wash it right off my hands afterwards. After 24 hours drying time, I dripped water on my shoes, and it beaded and rolled off. HOWEVER, if you keep pouring water on the same spot, it will soak. Now how stain resistant it is remains to be seen, but I'm hopeful that if it does get stained, it will be easy to clean off. If you do clean it off, you will probably need to reapply. For the most part, Scotchgard worked similarly, and I noticed absolutely no stain prevention in my car seats after using it. What it did was make any staining you get wash out more easily and not 'set' into the fabric. I believe this works the same way. I have not gotten anything I treated stained yet, and I'm not going to stain brand new canvas items to test. The star off is because it's not really waterproofing fabric for more than a few seconds. If the stain resistance does not work as I expect (stains don't 'stick' but can wash out), then I will update again with fewer stars. So far so good, I like it.

I love this product for all my clothes shoes and household fabrics. It lives up to it's name and protects with a fine mist, quick drying NON-AEROSOL spay.

I like that I got my order in a few days and the product arrived safely and all parts needed were together ( bottle of sealant, spray head and tube for sprayer) but I did not finish even 1 coat on my small runner before product was gone. Maybe I missed a statement that listed the sqft that 16oz covers but I am disappointed that I have to order more and wait a few days. Also, the spray nozzle is tiny and you have to work inch by inch. Not so great when it’s a big surface, but based on the amount of product this may be intended for only small areas!! I’ve washed 5 small rugs so far ( 2 runners , 5x6 ft oval and 2 3x5) and I guess it will take double the bottles to cover. I have 3 more rugs to do and smallest is 10x12. Will look for larger size or maybe a stain sealer with a cleaner. Just used this product and it does go on clear and I did not notice a smell. ( I was outside but there was NO wind. ( it was hot).) I’ll let it dry snd see how it holds up. At least for 7/8th of the runner/rug. Just disappointed I didn’t complete the rug.

Bought a new grey couch and used this. We have 4 dogs and I was a bit worried about protection. Easy to use just spray in. Stays a bit moist but dries pretty quick. So far so good and it's been 6 months

I just bought a beautiful linen sofa and wanted to make sure to protect it right away as we have 4 kids and 2 dogs. I saw there were two pain fabric protector and both looked good so I figured why not buy them both and test them side by side on a spare white pillow case. I had three sections. The left was scotchguard. The middle was untreated. The right was stain guard. I spilled chocolate milk ALL over to see how each section would react and both them worked well. I then took the pillow case and let the chocolate milk run off and then went inside to wipe it with a damp towel. Scotchguard was the clear winner in protecting fabric! Stain guard was good (and it was better than the untreated section) but not as good as scotchguard. I just finished spraying the couch and it was super easy to apply the spray evenly. Only con was the smell and fumes. But certainly we’ll worth it to protect the fabric from any kind of spill. If you’re trying to decide which one to get, now you know!

I tried the Tri Nova Fabric Protector. It did not work as expected: weak protection and uneven coverage. The smell is too strong and uncomfortable; it caused irritation for the children. Overall, this product does not perform in the way it promises to."

Not too astonishing i guess. Done expect something magical to happen after you use it. You ll still get stains

I purchased TriNova Fabric Protector Spray and Stain Guard to help protect my cream-colored bar stools from everyday spills and wear. So far, I’ve only used it on those stools, but I’m happy with how easy the application process was. The spray goes on evenly with a fine mist and dries without leaving behind a strong chemical smell. I was especially relieved that it didn’t darken, stain, or change the color of the fabric at all, since my stools are such a light cream shade. Another thing I appreciated is that the fabric still feels soft after drying. It didn’t leave the material stiff, sticky, or crunchy like some fabric sprays can. After applying it, water beads more on the surface instead of immediately soaking in (see photo), which gives a little extra peace of mind for everyday use around food and drinks. I still wouldn’t consider any fabric completely stain-proof, but this definitely adds a layer of protection and helps make maintenance easier. My only downside is that I do wish the bottle were a bit larger for the price. I was only able to fully protect three bar stools before running low, so larger projects may require more than one bottle. Overall, this worked well for what I needed and I would consider purchasing it again for protecting other fabric furniture around the house.
