Helikon-TexHelikon SFU Next Shirt Polycotton Ripstop Olive Green

Just arrived so I have not pushed it yet but the quality seems as good as my other Helikon clothes so I am expecting 5 star performance. With a backpack on the two chest pockets are a no go but I expected that. The arm and lower pockets are usable though. It is a heavy shirt and will work well as a light jacket if needed. The velcro cuffs work great. The buttons are a good size and so are easy to use. That helps if you are older with arthritis like I am. 😒The fit: I am 5'8" 138 lbs with a 37" chest and the medium I ordered is good. A little roomy but didn't want anything constricting either. The Helikon labeling on the tag says EU:M US S. Keep that in mind when you order your size from the drop down. You are ordering the European size. My tape measure was about 24" pit to pit with the jacket flat on the ground if that helps.All in all I think it is a good shirt at a fair price. It should serve me well.

The shirt is made of the highest quality stitching, Washes easily, and is rugged and durable!!!

OD is pretty cool, comfy and durable. Sleeves are a bit short if your tall but it don’t matter if it’s 80 degrees out and your running in full kit.

This is a nice quality shirt / light jacket. Great fabric, a little water repellent also. But it has too much Velcro. Methods to stick a patch on seem to be popular but stuff sticks to Velcro. Especially when it is on the shoulders-where you brush up against everything. Like dog hair, small twigs, or even tent tree caterpillars. Maybe someday garments of this style can be offered w/o Velcro, or Velcro as an option. Walking through a dusty barn or a dry patch of woods means cleaning stuff off your shoulders.Otherwise it is a sturdy comfortable garment with good pockets. More of a heavy work shirt, with sticky shoulders, than a duty garment though.I usually wear a long or tall size, the arms on this shirt are good, the body a smidgen short. Not going to return it but will not buy another.

These coats (shirt) are cut & styled like the new active duty military is using now. They have all the right pockets, in all the right places. Including elbow pockets for the pad inserts, if you want them. The material is thick and doubled where it is needed. Sizes are big and roomy, so if you are weight lifter, or just a larger person, you will still have plenty room to move. All I have ever found on the civilian market are the straight "crappy" military coats we wore in the 80's and early 90's. The only improvements I could suggest is greater, or longer strip of velcro at the cuff for a tighter fit. And also greater access in the US, so that exchanges (sizes) could be easier & less expensive. Great Product!

Great material, good fit, but the buttons need heavier thread. I received these yesterday and the bottom button is barely hanging on already. Kind of disappointed in that because I avoided Rothco for that reason.

Waited a long time for this to arrive and it turned out too large. I'm 5'8", 180 lbs and the Large was too big. I easily returned it and ordered a Medium with fits much better. Seems well made and looks good. The velcro closures aren't very "tactical" but they work fine. I like it enough that I'm considering buying another one in a different color.

I wanted a lightweight jacket/shirt for long range competition shooting. This is perfect for my needs. It’s super lightweight and that means it carries light in my pack. Its rip stop design is great. It’s spacious and even has pockets for elbow pads.

Be careful what you order, I ordered xxl and got European xxl, so US xl really…Sold it to a skinny dude

Sorry but the sizing of this is astonishingly inaccurate. My wife could have climbed in with me. Terrible
