A 2-Year Love Affair with Triplot Reusable Nespresso Original Capsules
I've been a dedicated Nespresso machine and pods user for over 15 years. My last one is the Breville Pixie Espresso Machine. Let's talk about the real game-changer: Triplot reusable capsules. I've been using these for over two years now, and I'm here to tell you, I'll never go back! Two years ago, I made the switch to Triplot reusable capsules, and I haven't looked back. It's a game-changer! The machine still works flawlessly, I'm saving money, I'm doing something for the planet, and enjoying creamy, tasty Espressos everyday. What drove me to explore reusable capsules? Well, the ever-increasing cost of Nespresso pods and the growing desire for a more sustainable coffee habit. I initially purchased this 6-capsule kit to test the waters. While there was a bit of a learning curve to achieve the perfect espresso, I quickly discovered a simple method that works like a charm: NEWBIES! THE HOW-TO INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ARE FOR YOU!!!! 1. Measure and Fill: Use your measuring spoon to add 2-3.5 teaspoons of ground coffee to the aluminum capsule. 2. Tamp: Gently tamp the coffee grounds to ensure even distribution. 3. Clean: Wipe away any excess coffee grounds from the capsule rim. 4. Seal: Place the aluminum top seal onto the capsule. 5. Press: Press down on the foil of the top seal to secure it. 6. Finalize: Press with your finger around the entire capsule to ensure a tight seal. And voilà! Your reusable capsule is ready for brewing. Over time, I’ve repurchased additional capsules. Now, I prepare batches of 20-25 capsules at a time, usually once a week. The entire process takes only about 5 minutes! It’s so easy and satisfying. Pros: Cost-Effective: The initial investment pays off quickly, especially if you're a frequent coffee drinker. Eco-Friendly: Reduces waste from single-use capsules. Quality Espresso: With a bit of practice, you can achieve a rich, creamy espresso. Of course, the coffee blend you choose is also very important! Cons: Plastic Packaging: The seal lids come in a lot of plastic packaging, which seems counterintuitive to the eco-friendly goal. Triplot, please consider more sustainable packaging options! While the silicone seals may need occasional replacement, the overall savings and environmental benefits far outweigh this minor inconvenience. I wholeheartedly recommend giving Triplot reusable capsules a try. For those who are wondering, I use the Italian Illy Ground Expresso blend.

Works perfectly. Great espresso with crema.
These pods are amazing. I've used pods without foil wrappers but instead have a stainless steel filter. These are superior in everyway. These pods are the same size as a regular Nespresso pod, therefore you get no water leaking around the pod and watering down your espresso. You also get a full shot of espresso (or a standard Nespresso shot) Because they are the standard size, you get a regular filling of coffee grinds. The pods with a stainless steel filter top are smaller so that the pod doesn't damage the machine Therefore you get less coffee grinds per pod. I had to use three of those pods where I normally use two. Additionally, these pods, when closed in the machine, sit firm against the capsule opener and when you press the start button you hear that classic foil "pop" and a nice dark and creamy espresso flows. The scoop is fantastic. It makes it so easy to get coffee grinds into the cup from the bag. No longer is my bulky hands and fingers rubbing the bag or accidentally touching the coffee grinds. One clean scoop motion and your done. You can even level it with the bag as you pull the scoop out. The foil is easy to place and seal. I do like the silicone matt. however, I wish there were little holes in the bottom. After washing the pods I place them into the silicone molds but water tends to collect in the bottom of the mold. I guess I need to dry the pods better. At any rate, if your looking for reusable pods that deliver great taste and crema, these are the ones!!!

Better Shots Than Originals, Glue Hassle
I prefer brewing my own freshly roasted coffee, which is crucial for good espresso — even with Nespresso machines, since pre-made capsules can be stale. These reusable pods work great: packing 5 grams of finely ground coffee gives a really good shot, better than original pods. The main issue is glue residue on the pod ridge after removing the foil lid, which you definitely don’t want in your next espresso. Let the pods cool after brewing — it helps a lot with clean removal. Still, residue can linger and is tricky to clean. I’d love advice from the seller or users on fully removing it!

Consistently stellar espresso!
I rarely write reviews but I felt very inclined to do so for this product. I’ve now made ~10 shots over the course of 3 weeks of having these. I have a D’Longhi Mini Essenza Nespresso machine, and it fits these capsules like a glove, a very tight glove. That’s a good thing, because a loose fitting capsule will cause water leakage into your espresso cup and dilute your drink (and experience). I weigh 5 grams of finely ground dark roast (seriously, I just buy pre ground espresso that Trader Joe’s sells, rainforest packaging) in the capsule and use the included “tamper” to compress the grounds. It’s a little bit messy of a process but I’ll take cleaning up since the end result is phenomenal. I use filtered water ONLY in my Nespresso machine and overall, it works like a charm. Lovely aroma (better than store bought pods) and perfect amount of cream too. Resist the urge to fully fill and pack the capsule, as some space is needed for the water when the foil lid is penetrated. I’ve made these the night before and even after sitting sealed by the foil for 8 hours, they still taste fresh in the morning. Each shot is very consistent and up to the caliber and quality of Nespresso brand pods. I took a chance after reading some mixed reviews, but boy am I glad I got these. I am now so excited to experiment with pre-ground espresso from different roasters, since the standard Trader Joe’s brand espresso tastes so good. This saves so much money over buying one time use pods, and the taste is phenomenal! Fantastic value!!!

Works surprisingly well with no compatibility issues
After reading some of the reviews after placing my order that remarked about compatibility issues even though their machine was listed as compatible I decided to give them a go upon their arrival, although the only preground coffee I had was a can of Chock Full O'Nuts that I had purchased in preparation for testing a few different reusable K-cups. I wasn't really intending to evaluate the quality results so much as whether or not they actually worked to produce the coffee from my Citiz. Not having a real s/s tamper on hand I found the best technique was to place the capsule in the handle turning it into a scoop, then pressing it through the coffee towards the side of the can to fill and 'tamp' the puck, then tamp the coffee a bit more using your fingertip. Wipe off the top surface with your finger and install the foil lid. Be sure to not overtamp and leave a bit of an indentation in the top of the puck to allow the puck to expand, otherwise you will stall your unit or clog the output screen on your machine. I pulled a few 30ml espresso shots and was shocked at the amount of crema created even with using a coffee that was ground too coarsely for espresso. Out of curiosity I tasted it anyway, and found it definitely under-extracted but surprisingly drinkable, not great but better than a number of the lesser known brands of compatible capsules. Now really intrigued, I filled a few more capsules and tamped them a bit more, then pulled them as 90ml lungo shots. Not as much crema as would be created from an espresso grind, but definitely more than I expected from this drip grind. The most shocking aspect of all was that with a drop of creamer and a bit of sugar the coffee was actually quite enjoyable. I've reordered these along with a s/s tamper and silicone pad and am looking forward to giving them a full review using a can of Illy espresso grind for an actual evaluation now that I am confident that they will work with my machine. Edit: The s/s tamper, silicone tamping pad and a can of Illy pre-ground espresso arrived yesterday and I had the opportunity to test them out properly this morning. As expected, they performed admirably. The espresso was smooth and creamy with a full, sweet crema. Resist the temptation to overfill or overtamp your capsules for optimum performance. I f you aren't sure about the grind or amount of coffee you should be using, I highly recommend opening up a few factory capsules that have worked well for you in the past and compare. Keep in mind that the factory capsules are a little bit deeper than the refillable versions and are generally not tamped at all, relying on the initial water infusion to compress the coffee puck.

I loved these pods - until I got my first set of refill replacements
Updated 3 star review The set of 200 stickers that I received after I used up the original stickers did not work well at all. They can’t stay attached during brewing. This is such a disappointment, as I loved the original kit. Original 5 star review To be honest, I wasn't sure if I would use these pods much because they would require too much effort to use. I love the convenience of a single serve espresso machine, but I also want to look for more environmentally friendly pods. I will not use plastic pods. I have been using Peets (cheaper, but not the best flavor) and Nespresso ($$$) pods because they offer recycling programs. While I like that I am not adding plastic to a landfill, I don't know what the real impact is of the plastic bags for shipping, fuel costs to ship, etc. So...that lead me to these wonderful little reusable espresso pods. I can use beans from my favorite roaster and enjoy amazing cappuccinos at home. It really is as simple as grind, scoop and seal. The pods fit perfectly in my Cuisinart machine. The set of 6 pods lasts me 2-3 days and I actually look forward to filling them - the smell of freshly ground beans is always welcome!

Does not work with ninja espresso coffee barista machine
My husband and I just bought a new ninja espresso and coffee barista machine, super fancy and totally trying to reign in on our coffee game and save some money so we stop going to Starbucks religiously. So we bought these fillable pods to try and use our own grinder and espresso roast and we tried it out the first day. We went through 4 different pods that we filled, followed the instructions and we kept getting an error on our machine saying “ready to brew, add water”. We checked the tank, it was full. We tried to adjust the pods and rebrew. Tried to use different pods. Every single time we had this error and couldn’t figure out why. After a few hours and many Google attempts, we get our last delivery of original nespresso shaped pods from a different company already filled (the throw away ones) and we get the prefect brew of espresso instantly. To debunk this again, we used one more refillable pot and got the error again. The foils are too thick and won’t pierce correctly. My guess is just don’t fill the pods per the instructions and do less but who wants less espresso? lol so I just returned them and am going to just buy the tossable pods. Maybe I’ll revisit them down the road when I’m more inclined - maybe it’s totally user error idk but I don’t have the patience I just want my coffee lol

So good I bought a 2nd!
I bought the Nespresso Lattissima on Black Friday and absolutely love it! The one time use pods get really expensive though so I bought these refillable pods and they are great! I make coffee for my husband as well and he has always said he preferred the taste using the reusable pods (granted I fill with Illy or Lavazza). I liked them so much I bought a 2nd set since we usually use 2 pods per drink…which is why it was getting expensive with the one time use pods since they average a dollar a pod! Pros – • Can use any coffee • Unlimited uses • Lungo, espresso, or the smaller size they all taste great • If you double brew the same pod it tastes about the same as using 2 pods (did that by mistake a few times!) • Way way cheaper than using the reusable pods • Cute holder for the pods Cons – • Holds slightly less coffee than the disposable pods, though I honestly haven’t noticed a taste difference • Needs one time use sticky ‘lids’, they are pretty cheap though • The rubber gasket will eventually need replacing, I have used mine A TON and only one of them is starting to show wear and tear • Would have been nice if the holder had a lid Needless to say, I recommend, or else I wouldn’t have bought a 2nd set.

Sustainable Swap for Single-use Pods
I was gifted a Nesspresso machine and felt criminal using single-use pods. Then I discovered this set. It does take a bit of effort in the beginning, but now filling the pods has become part of my morning ritual. In fact, I enjoy the process so much, my husband and I fight over who gets to fill the pods. The resulting coffee strength is mild. My friends prefer to use 2 of these pods in each cup. I prefer my coffee mild, so it works for me.
