Is this safe to use on factory gloss black wheels?

Yes, same rule of thumb applies as most chemicals just don't let it dry on the wheel before you rinse it off. It's strong, I use it as a prewash for the entire car.

I would try a small area of the wheel and not let the product dry at all, after you've tried that small area you should have your answer but I honestly dont see it affecting your matte wheels any.

Does this strip wax/coatings from a coated wheel?

yes over time this product can strip wax and coating from a vehicle or wheel.

Can this be used on salt water stains on boats? And can it be used on automotive paint?

We would not recommend Dark Fury on a non-coated painted surface. It is not intended to be used on salt water stains.
