What I expected very nice. For the money

A friend of mine talked me into getting one of these, and we use it almost weekly. It adds a whole new taste to vegetables, by NOT boiling all the flavor out of your veggies. The flavor is still locked in, they are never over cooked, and you can cook your vegetables 'al dente' with no effort at all. We love it!

This is larger than it needs to be, unless you are steaming food for several people. The metal is so thin I thought it would bend in my hands but so far it has held up just fine. Must be well-engineered to be sturdy and yet so thin. A lot of steam comes out around the cover, which does not sit very tightly. But it still gets the job done. The handles are thick enough that you don't need an oven mitt or towel to avoid burning your fingers when picking it up or removing the cover. I'd rather it didn't take up so much space in the cupboard but it works just fine.

This is the second one I have purchased. I had to replace the first from 6 years ago since I burnt the bottom (completely my fault). I think this second one may even be a bit more sturdy. Very happy. We do a lot of steaming. It is big enough to steam one or two chicken breasts/cutlets, as well as whatever vegetables. Very convenient. Great for quick, healthy meals on one burner; fast clean-up.

been looking for one for ever that was well made and not to pricey. this is perfect, for veggies or fish! even great for dumplings or potstickers. its really easy to clean and doesnt take up to much space. i love buying things for my kitchen and this gets sooo much use! perfect for anyone

I used this pot to steam my dungeons crabs. The crabs were great. The pan not so great. Left a dark mark in the stainless steel pot.

Hate giving one star reviews but this product deserves it. All o f the insides of holes in the steamer pan were coated with a black residue. Tried to wipe it off, used dishwashing detergent, high temperature in the dishwasher, scrubbing pad, steel wool, rubbing alcohol, vinegar (acetic acid 30%), citric acid and finally draino. Nothing prevented the black residue from returning.I suspect it is like the dark rust one gets when one allows cast iron to rust but I don't trust it.Unfortunately, being newly disabled, I can not repack and return.Just had to throw it away.Why Amazon allows such to be sold can only be explained by profits over people.
