How long are the sides?

If I can recall, the sheets are about 8.5x11. (same size as plain printer paper)

Do you remove the backing and the clear plastic cover?

You can remove both but I don’t think you’re supposed to. To be honest it was prettier with the back on. If you remove the back it won’t be iridescent. You’ll have 1 clear sheet and 1 colored.
