I read Ms. Bartness' second book, How to Lose a Job, and picked up her fourth book because the third was sold out. Book four, How to Succeed without Dying, combines humor,action and a cast of characters with skewed takes on reality. The book starts out with a bang when Kate, the protagonist, discovers the body of a local prosecutor. After that the action continues as Kate deals with drug cartels, undercover DEA and FBI agents, an old woman who talks to dead people, and an uncooperative client with a food addiction.
