Just rebuilt the lower end on a yamaha warrior that had been sitting outside for two years. Pulled all the bearings in the lower for replacement with this puller and worked with ease. Little to no wear on the tools used. Would highly recommend for any at home repair mechanic. Review: paid for itself in one use for me - I had to remove a needle bearing from a front differential so I bought and tried this tool. After a light learning curve, I was successful in removing the bearing. I subsequently used it to remove two axle seals in which it worked well. For the time and low amount of effort it took the tool was well worth the investment, I consider it paid for. Depending on the bearing, don't expect the bearing will necessarily survive the extraction as you are pulling on the inner race, but then again it isn't common practice to remove 'good' bearings. Seals will also be damaged, but you should never plan to reuse a seal either. All in all a good tool, made of hardened steel. Comes with a short slide hammer (limited use) and a two jaw puller which works well at a smooth consistent pull not creating shrapnel. However, the pullers may not be able to get a good enough grip to pull all bearings. I've had a few that it would not grip enough to pull out. The jaws aren't hard enough or machined sharp enough to work 100% **Q: Will this work to remove a carrier bearing in outboard motor lower units?** A: I'm not sure if it will work for that application. If the puller jaws can grab the back side of the bearing it probably will.
