Shea Butter For Natural Hair Moisturizing Twist & Lock Gel, 13 Ounce (Pack of 1) (07005-12/3EU)

Came on time and contents had all safety rappers intact. This is the 1st time I've used Cantu Twist & Lock Curl Gel and for $4.97 I figured I'd try it. I've used nearly all of the higher priced products and many do fine but often leave a residue behind. I've spent $60 and more on several years ago. Then I bought Pantene Curl Pudding and I loved that as it holds well but dries a little crispy. Smells great. This product is easy, not sticky. If you finger twist for soft curls or tighter to keep your already natural ringlets more defined because you already have curl to your hair then this is an absolutely great product. When it dried you couldn't tell I'd used it. I was in a truck and my hair blew a little and it didn't plump up and frizz like I expected for not being a more crispy gel once it dried. There was a storm front and also some humidity. The shea butter is key. It gave my hair a beautiful conditioning for added protection. The next day I sprayed my hair a little with Johnson & Johnson Toddler Hair Detangler on about a dz strands on each side of my face due to sweating profusely in the heat to try and calm them down around a small facial area and then I combed the prior days beautiful curls with a smaller pick instead of the larger one that I'd used when my hair was wet. I have hair down to my bra strap therefore, the longer my hair gets then the heavier it gets and then I lose my "chemo" curl as opposed to how it looks when its wet. First use, after the process stated above I'd scrunch and then lightly dried with a blow dryer. I should've used a diffuser but didn't have one. Probably should've let it dry on it's own but I was in a hurry so it might have stayed less plump after the wind. I should've used twice as much product. Instead of putting it throughout my hair and then doing finger curls I used it one section at a time and twisted into curls. The beautiful soft wave and curl that this product enhances for the look I wanted today, used 1st yesterday and combed out today was absolutely beautiful. If I'd wanted the look I got yesterday then all I had to do was re-wet my hair, apply more product and twist again. I used very little so I expect this will last me quite a while and my hair is some what thick. I wouldn't have any worries about it being greasy because it's a very light product. My hair is somewhat dry and needs the conditioning. My hair isn't processed but I would highly recommend this product for processed hair. If you're looking for something with crispier curls in the wind then I swear by Pantene Curl Pudding. Smells beautiful but not over powering. Yet, this product is great for the price especially if you have Prime due to free and fast shipping.

Love the smell. I switched my shampoo and conditioner to a no scent one (it’s better for your hair) and I rather like smelling nice and I don’t want to spray my hair with perfume, that kind of defeats the purpose. I didn’t see anywhere on the container about a smell so I figured it didn’t have one, oh boy it does. I was very surprised and very happy. It can be overwhelming to some people, but I really like it and it isn’t as strong as when your hair is dry. Now how it works. So I’ve been on a natural hair journey for about a year now, with not using any heat in about 8 months or longer. Even with using heat often before my hair was not damaged. I’m the only one in my family that has thick course and curly hair, I would classify my hair with 3b curly and wavy hair. I am Italian but I’m the only one that inherited the hair, everyone else has fine hair that does fall flat naturally. I’ve switched my pillows to silk to reduce frizz and it also helps with face aging. Before this product I would use Aussie hair spray and spray my hair after a shower and go to bed with my hair flung over my pillow. This helped a lot with learning what kind of body my hair has naturally. It minimizes the frizz and it wasn’t stiff (since my hair was so wet when I applied) Now I use a silk cap that I wear to bed. It takes longer for my hair to dry. But my hair has never looked so defined. Then I found this product because I didn’t want to keep using hairspray and it still had frizz when using hairspray and I wanted it to be even more defined. So the first thing I noticed when I opened this was that the smell was amazing and tropical. Sometimes I smell mango, sometimes pineapple, and sometimes coconut. It’s a wild ride but I think it just overall smells amazing and tropical. I apply it after I take a shower and go to sleep with my hair wet. I used it with the silk cap I have and it was absolutely amazing. It was defined for the most part. I definitely have to play with it more but I think it’s a great step for my hair. It does have a decent hold, which is exactly what I wanted. My hair is still soft but you can definitely tell that there is product in it, which I don’t really like but it looks great and it isn’t crunchy or anything like that, so I think I have to concede on that bit for now. My one issue is it can be a little clumpy. After I apply it to my hair and my hair is dry, I notice small amounts of white specs throughout my hair. It isn’t noticeable unless you look extremely close but I don’t like that aspect of it. So if you use it, make sure to rub it between your hands to break it down a bit more, that seems to help for me. My hair is overall very healthy even when I was straightening it all the time, so it is still healthy. I only use this in my hair before bed and when I wake up I use some argon oil to help with shine and making my hair look more fresh. I really try to stay away from having extensive hair and beauty routines, the simpler the better in my opinion. I do think a silk cap can help a lot of people with frizz. And I never even really thought of wearing a cap until I tried the curly hair method and tried to use cotton tshirt to wear my hair up at night (which absolutely helps, definitely try it if you haven’t.) but the shirt could be kind of bulky and uncomfortable to sleep with. So I recommend this product hands down, and without a doubt. I also suggest getting either a silk cap or silk pillows or both to help battle frizz and aging. I got them both on amazon.

Saw this in a YouTube video, and so glad I got it, my first ever curl gel. It's nice and cheap, and works great! I have 2b waves (I think? they vary a lot), and if I let my hair air dry with no product, it's slightly frizzy. I bought this for encouraging natural curls, but I actually even use it if I want straight hair, to reduce frizz. It works great. I use this with a heat protectant curl cream out of the shower. If I want curls, I use a moderate amount and scrunch. If I want light waves, I use less and don't encourage the curl with scrunching or diffusing, can even comb it while damp to encourage straightness. If I think I'll be styling with heat later, I use a little before air drying to reduce frizz. Using this makes my hair much more defined and less frizzy, helps it air dry faster, and keeps it looking great for more days. The only disadvantage is if I go straight, I have to wash my hair sooner due to the amount of product looking oiler after a few days. But I prefer that to frizz and poof. Weirdly, when I encourage my curls with scrunching, my hair doesn't look oily days later even when I used a lot of product. It smells like piña colada, so I hope you like that.

I love this stuff !! I'm hooked ....I wash my hair , while damp I apply this and twist sections , pin them with bobby pins and the next day take them out , leaves a nice soft waive that smells delish! I am of mixed culture, so my hair is crazy and needs taming . Thick and course, wavy, weird! The main problem I have with my hair it's unruly with frizz, I like to do my hair different ways, so I use a lot of products with HEAT an although I do everything to protect it from heat damage it can still feel dried out. Drives me nuts. BUT since I found Cantu and this Shea Butter one, this is my go to for all of the madness and it totally takes care of my hair . I also like to use this as a light leave in conditioner. It leaves my hair soft with no frizzies. It's light , no greasy after feel , a little goes along way, I would imagine if you put too much it may weigh your hair down some but as with any product . And no hard crispy hair after it's dry, one of my peeves. Perfect for me, very happy- I rate this product 5 stars ! p.s Cantu has a great line of products, my husband uses Cantu on his hair now too ( because of me, he's hooked on the product for his coarse hair, it brings out his curls and they look soft and shiny, I bought him the black foam brush to use with it, you'll see it if you look through their product line of products, it's black and red. His hair's never looked better and it smells amazing , he loves the stuff too ! ; ) Cheers

This very light cream works nicely on my fine, thinning hair. The only catch, for me, is that I get the best results when my hair is still damp from having just gotten out of the shower and towel-dried it. It feels a little sticky on my fingers after applying it, so I usually wash my hands with soap and water afterwards.

My new go-to for my thick coarse curls. I style my hair when it's dripping wet and this locks in the curl.
