Another reviewer said he’s caught gators with this and I believe him. Beware - don’t stick this in the closet and think you’ll be ready to use it without any practice. Make sure you know how to tighten and release the cable noose - yes, you could accidentally kill an animal if you overdo the tension or don’t release the cable when needed. And, no matter how tempting, don’t use it on friends and or relatives, even if they deserve it...

I was really kicking myself in the face for buying this because of the price BUT after I saw what a small animal did to the handle of it I can be very happy another ZERO wasn't added to the end of this products initial price in medical fees and a very large amount of stitches and pain.Yes, practice is needed.Be very careful when pulling down onto the bottom release because it will whip very fast out of the handle and could cause a lot of damage if not careful.

Built in a very sturdy fashion. Does the job with a cat or dog.One reviewer stated that the cable will really “pop” the hand holding the operator end of the pole. He is spot on. Just be sure to wear a leather glove on the hand on the end of the pole away from the animal you are catching.

Bought this for alligator removal. Works we'll. Also capable of humanely removing snakes without harming the snake. Will also kill an animal if you increase the tension so be careful. Nice sturdy product with heavy duty parts.

Excellent for wrangling strong, medium to large(ish) animals like dogs and raccoons. Very heavy, though, so it can be exhausting to use. Way too much for iguanas, for example.
