These are a little pricey, but have saved more than one lens
I know that many photographers poo poo filters, especially UV on digital cameras, but I use them primarily for lens protection rather than light filtering. I detect no difference in photo quality, but perhaps there is a slight reduction in glare, especially near water. I have thrown away a few filters after scratching or breaking them while the lens underneath went unscathed. A hundred bucks to save a $2500 lens is absolutely worth it.

Wash shipped used dirty lens
Item arrived timely. Clearly not new. The filter is dirty & much of the finish beat or worn off. It will be returned.
