Versatile telescoping feature
Great sturdy no rust gaff; telescoping feature is a bonus on different boats ,fish, and for stowing.

Very compact. Easy to expand.
Strong and compact. I got one to reach over and pull weeds off my pontoon motor. Canโt speak to use for fishing but I think it would be great for ice fishing.

Good Gaff, can be better
I ordered the large size, 142โ, and when I got it it measured 116โ. I was in the process of returning it when I realized that the tip extends 2โ further. However, the tip is not secured in its base so it can collapse with little effort back into the telescopic holder. Itโs ok if you use it only for pulling, but fails on pushing. I bought the Gaff for removing my boat lift cover in case of a hurricane, that is held by bungee cords. Itโs not perfect for it but it works if I twist it. Anyway, itโs ok but I wished that the tip would be better secured.

Right idea, wrong construction.
Of course it would be great in theory, as you can extend it to the length you want. But this thing relies on built-in friction for holding it to the extended length, Which means obviously it will lose friction as time goes on and slide out to the longer length you donโt want it. Thereโs no way to lock it into the desired length. Absurd!

Great deal for the quality
I have a small boat; only 14.5ft aluminum vhull. So space saving items are a โmust haveโ. I decided to take a leap of faith that this would work out, and itโs been absolutely perfect. Itโs a lot better quality than I was expecting. And itโs out of the way when I donโt need it, and ready to go in a split second when I do. Iโd purchase again, and probably will since itโs a great space saver. And letโs be honestโฆ Two is better than one.
