I used the harness to help her over boulders on the more difficult parts of a trail up a moderate mountain. Without the harness we would have had to turn back. With it, my dog actually began smiling and gained confidence. She was very happy to be able to continue. My friends even noticed and commented on how happy she seemed. I should also add that not only is this a high quality harness, but the customer service is superb. After receiving my order the company sent a follow-up email that, among other things, stated that they would like feedback. I sent them an email explaining my problem with my dog qualifying for two different sizes because of her weight (L) and her chest girth (XL). I had chosen XL and, while it still was workable, it was clearly too large. They generously sent me a second harness in L size at no extra cost and also plan to add stomach girth to the sizing choices. The large fits perfectly and I have one happy dog! This harness gives me the leverage I need to assist her when walking. I was feeling a little helpless when home alone with her and not being able to help her, but this has changed all that. The harness is easy to use, totally self explanatory, and seems to be very strong. We've been using it for about 2 weeks. But not only am I happy with the product, but the customer service I have received from AMZpets. I was emailed after ordering, once shipped to make sure the harness had arrived, and after arrival to make sure I was happy and didn't need anything. They also attached a copy of the instructions just in case, and just to be nice, a document with 10 great tips for dog owners they felt might be useful. Who says customer service is dead?! Why only four stars, 1. the velcro. I have had this for a week and of course velcro loves fur, I use a very soft baby brush to keep the fur out of the velcro. Yes I was aware of the velcro and knew I would have some issues, the one I use it on is a very fuzzy dog. Cockerspaniel /chow. 2. The sizing chart is a bit wonky, my dog is 40 pounds yet she small short and stocky, the large would have been to big and the medium is almost to small. That should be something to keep in mind when sizing for your dog.With all of that said, this is a back saver! My dog is 16 almost 17 in good health other than getting up and down, some days are better than others for her. On the bad days I would go to bed with a aching back, this sling has changed that.It is easy to use and once Willow gets on her feet I take it off her because she doesn't need the help to walk. She is always laying down when I put it on her, makes it easy for us both.
