It really does mix ingredients faster and better plus it’s pretty!
I first/recently bought the "Original" Beater Blade. It's plastic and works fine. But I should have been more patient! A couple months later I found the METAL Beater Blade version - sleek, beautiful and black!! - and had to have it. I made a brownie pudding from What's Gabby Cooking on New Year's Eve (OMG. Find it and make it if you like chocolate...it is so good!!!). It said mix eggs and sugar for the entire 10 minutes for success. well, it was clear that this beater blade made a big difference way faster, just as claimed. The egg/sugar mixture was light in color, very thick and fluffy...I only mixed for 6 minutes! Trying to get my video to post - it shows how well this thing mixes all the way down to the bottom of the bowl, no egg or sugar left to finish by hand. My pics show how well it scrapes the bowl sides...the flexi blades bending and scraping the chocolate batter away from the bowl. I See comments from other people that this doesn't fit - so adding: - I have a Kitchen Aid “7 qt bowl lift mixer” - I use a 7qt bowl AND a 6qt bowl (they have same diameter so both fit my mixer, only the 7qt is deeper) - the “6LM” beaterblade flat beater blade works in BOTH of my bowls. I believe this Beater Blade is a kitchen gadget that is definitely worth owning. It will last a long time, doesn’t take up much space and it really does the job it’s meant to do.

Awesome descriptions and awesome product.
Like many other people, I got the KitchenAid "Pro 5 Plus" mixer from Sam's Club during the winter holidays. Apparently the ones from Sam's club have a different size bowl then the other "Pro 5 Plus" mixers sold at other stores, which made finding a compatible beater with a silicone edge a pain. Most of my online research showed you needed to look at the serial code on the mixer, but then I couldn't find info / reviews that mentioned "KP25..." Anyways, this product's description made it easy to figure out, by measuring the bowel diameter. I got the 6qt sized one, and it works flawlessly. I like to make chocolate chip cookies and various cheesecakes. This beater mixes more throughly, in a shorter time span, and I have to do very little scrapping between each egg addition when mixing. This saves me alot of time and prevents the dough / cheesecake from being overly beaten. With that said, I've noticed none of my cheesecakes get crumblely or crack in baking since using this beater.

OMG! I’ve been wanting a bowl scraping beater for years and this is the first one that WORKS!
And boy, does it ever! I’ve bought and returned at least three other versions of a bowl scraping beater in the past 10 years because none of them worked. Some were clearly the wrong size despite my double checking the model of my KitchenAid mixer, and some just simply didn’t work for beans. I returned every single one and just about had given up. But BonAppétit.com published an article on April 22 entitled “No Stand Mixer Is Complete Without the BeaterBlade” and that led me to locate it here and order it. I did check my KitchenAid model number (a Professional 5 Plus-KV25GO) and when the beater arrived I eagerly tried it out. I did need to adjust the set screw just a smidge to lower the bowl. For some reason the manufacturer says not to try the beater out for size in an empty bowl. But my word, did it work beautifully with the cookie dough I tried. I’ve used it three times since I got it, and I didn’t need to scrape the bowl down once! I love my KitchenAid, and I bake a lot. I’ve been baking for more than 50 years and I’m thrilled to have found this. One thing to consider is that this version is made of metal with silicone “scrapers” and will be much sturdier than those versions where the beater part itself is made of plastic. I think I’ll be enjoying the freedom from scraping the bowl down for years to come. The white coated metal beater that came with the mixer when I bought it in 2005 had begun to lose bits of the coating a few years ago, and getting a new one from KitchenAid is comparably priced to this one. Get THIS one instead. You’ll not regret it. I certainly don’t!

Absolutely worth it.
I'd like to preface this with the fact that I am usually critical of items when I review them and I did not receive any kind of compensation for my review of this item. I just really like it. Stand mixers should come with this by default. To me it is the difference between an automated mixer or one that you have to keep an eye on and stop to scrape the sides of the bowl repeatedly. I have tried the other brands with the spatula on one side and on both sides and for some ungodly reason they designed those so that they didn't actually touch the sides or bottom of the bowl, just the curve of the spatula wasn't even matched right to the shape of the bowl, they are also flat, like a straight up and down spatula causing slop at the top of the blade. This mixer blade is slightly spiraled so it brings the stuff at the top back down into the bowl like you would expect, the blade is actually contoured properly for the bowl so it has good contact from top to bottom, it does a superb job in my humble opinion. My one and only gripe is that it has little notches in the frame that can be a little annoying to clean if you let it sit. That being said it is still five stars. Anyone that uses a mixer often should buy one of these. For reference I am using the "New Metro Design 6L-M Beater Blade METAL" on a KitchenAid 6qt bowl lift mixer with the metal bowl.

mixes very well
My husband bought this for me for Christmas. It really liked that it stated it is a Pennsylvanian company, however, that is a little misleading. The product is designed in Pennsylvania, but made in Taiwan. It mixes the batter very quickly and thoroughly. It can sometimes be a little tricky to get it twisted onto the mixer head, I'm not sure why. Thus far, I am very pleased with the product. My only concern is that the rubber may crack or pull away from the blade. Fingers crossed that it is a quality product that lasts.

Way better than stock or the cheaper versions
I originally got one of the inexpensive bladed versions since the stock paddle doesn't do well with scraping the walls if you're baking something a little wet or sticky, which is many things, or a smaller batch of bread or cookies. But it eventually stiffened up and wasn't working well any more, so I decided I'd try this one. The design works as advertised, and it keeps the mixture pushed down in the bowl, so you don't have to pause to scrape it down periodically or worry as much about it escaping out of the bowl. It scrapes the sides way better as it mixes than the cheaper one too. This one is my new go to main paddle. It cleans up easily with a decent kitchen brush as well. I really like the wide Oxo brush, which cleans drying racks etc well also.

Beater does not fit Kitchen Aid 8 quart machine mixer bowl.
Does not fit 8 quart bowl. I couldn't even lift the bowl into place. Even after trying Kitchen Aid mixer adjustment screw, the beater is still too tight against bowl and is scraping the bottom of Kitchen Aid bowl as well. Also, making tapping noises as it hits the side of the bowl. The beater seems very sturdy perhaps but how can anyone use a beater that does not fit?

Why do I hear Devo in my head?
Because I'm a child of the 80's? "Whip it good!!".... I had the kitchenaid branded scraper blade and didn't really enjoy using it. I'm glad I tried Beater Blade- this scraping blade is not even in the same universe as the old kitchenaid blade. This one WORKS! Incredible! I used it to make a few baked goodies already and the performance is great. It's got silicone on both sides of the blade, and is shaped so instead of leaving that annoying bead of butter around the top of the bowl, it's all pushed back down and incorporated into the mix. It also creamed butter in about half the time of the old blade. I had a hard time getting the blade on the mixer arm straight out of the box, but found if I ran the silicone scraper through my butter it glided on like a charm. It's also a very tight fit to the bowl, so it didn't leave that annoying little nub at the bottom that you've got to scrape off with a spatula and re-incorporate into your mix. I'm so glad I found this! Thanks for making a kitchen tool that really works!

Love it - better than the KitchenAid branded blade
Works very well for my KitchenAid pro 5. Even with the KitchenAid branded beater with silicone blades I would get a smear of butter left at the bottom of the bowl making baked goods. This absolutely cleans the bottom of the bowl and gets stuff mixed faster. Definitely a great purchase. Holds up well to cleaning so far.

Great improvement over the stock KitchenAid beater blade
We've tried this out for several mixing tasks so far (cookie dough and perogy dough) and it really does wipe the sides of the bowl well, and push it down to the bottom. The fit on the shaft is a touch loose but no issues so far; and be sure to adjust the height of the bowl as instructed. Highly recommended as an improved beater!

very loud and still leaves things unmixed on the blade
I don't like that it is loud and it doesn't work near as well as one I have for a smaller mixer that fits my kitchen aid. I will try to add a picture after I've washed both
