Low quality & stopped working in a week
Purchased this Tach in June, but just now installed it. My 30 day return expired, so I assume i no longer have a warranty. The product is defective and in my opinion I would not recommend it. It worked for a week, and now all it does is buzz and the needle just vibrates. It no longer shows the RPM of the engine. It is now just junk I wasted money on. I would not recommend this product.

Decent/good quality for a very affordable price
Really not that bad, cheap quality for a cheap price but does the job and super easy to install as long as you know what you’re doing. installed due to my instrument cluster tach not working but was able to install this easily with no diag on why my normal one doesn’t work

A little goofy - ain't gonna lie
First off the thing has a mind of its own. Second that clicky weird thing irritates me. Okay, so I noticed when it was all hooked up on start up it does that clicky thing for 10 seconds before it goes to the correct idle rpms. Pretty annoying. So I ran a switch to the signal wire. After it's running I can arm the signal and bypass that initial 10 secs of clicking. Hence the 0 rpms on start up. It works okay in my 91 GMC 5.7. I give it 3 stars

Overall not the best experience, not really even a good one... but atleast it works
To start this off my package came beaten to hell, it was shipped in a plastic bag with nothing to protect it during shipping but it thankfully still turned on when I received it. I installed it the same day and it worked great for the first drive i went on... after that it wasn't working properly. The needle was stuck at 2000 rpm instead of 0 when turned off. I decided it was too much of a hassle to try and get my 20 bucks back so i took it apart to try and get it working again. And from the look of the inside, it's not assembled well whatsoever. You can tell the electronics are soldered by hand, which is ok... if you know how to solder. I'm shocked none of the connections broke when it was knocked around during shipping. It also had random blobs of solder stuck to the board where no connections were, probably just dripped on during the process and they didn't care enough to remove them. I eventually got it to work again, but it's a minor inconvenience. I have to put my vehicle into accessory mode and let the gauge "prime" itself, where the needle goes forward and back until it rests at 0 again, and then I can start my vehicle. If I start it immediately the gauge breaks itself again. It also does this awful buzzing sound when you first turn it on, it's not so bad for me to deal with but could be a deal breaker for others. The instructions it came with said it had a setting where you can change the color of the backlight, after trying many different things I can confirm you cannot change the color. So is it worth the $20 I spent? Yes, you do get what you pay for. Am I going to buy this product again? Probably never

Quality
Initially, this product was received as advertised Unit worked well and the installation was fairly easy. That being said, only time will tell it's true quality.

I was hesitant on making this purchase as some of the reviews made me nervous. It was a quick 20min install for me and it works great. Very happy with it!

The included wiring harness has very thin wires as well as being very short so is more difficult to connect to thicker wiring harnesses. As someone else pointed out there is no cylinder switch on the back as that is done with the push switch on the front. The same switch also adjusts the brightness of the backlight. You need to wire this carefully as a good solid ground and power source are necessary or it does not work. When you turn on the key, the needle will jump bottom to top and back again, making you think it is going to break. But it seems to be designed that way. Not sure about the accuracy but I will test that someday. Seems acceptable. The shift light is just a triggered switch that turns on the red light when it hits the limit adjusted by a rather flimsy turn control on the front face. I would not race with it but it is good to tell me my old engine is beginning to hit dangerous revs on the highway. The mounting bracket has 3 holes for you to put screws through and ruin your dash. It also has a curved center that makes it easier to place on a steering column. But there is nothing to use as a bracket to hold it to the column. Zip ties I guess is what I am trying.

While the gauge looks nice and initially it worked. Not long after it stop reading the RPM, the needle would pin itself past the 8k reading. Ended up buying a name brand tach and throwing this one in the garbage, stay clear of these tachs.

Hooked up as it should be. Not my first time installing a tach. Needle just points to a random place at any given time with absolutely no correspondence to engine rpm. Bought an auto-meter one to replace this and it works great.
