I wear size 32 in jeans, but 34 in smart trousers, based on these measurements what size jammers should I be wearing?

My son has size 34 and is a 30/32 in trousers .

Never owned a pair before, should I be ordering my normal waist size 32? Or should I be ordering the next size up?
