Review: Best Leather Restoration Product I've Used - I waited 8 weeks to review my first purchase of Skidmore's Restoration Creme to see how it stood up to our leather sofa. I was also comparing it to 2 applications of Leather Honey. I loved the Skidmore's so much I put it on my subscription and have now used two containers of it! Skidmore's was easy to apply and soaked in with no residue left behind. I have a really old top grain leather sofa purchased second hand that had dried out with lots of tiny cracks and a couple of huge scratches. Sorry I didn't think to take photos of the before and after. Suffice it to say that after the initial application the sofa looked and felt great. The tiny surface cracks are no longer visible and the large scratches are less noticeable. The leather feels supple and has a nice sheen. While the Leather Honey was easy to apply and not greasy afterward, I didn't feel like it lasted very long, after about a month the sofa started looking dry. The Skidmore's held up with no appreciable dryness reoccurring. I applied a second application of the Restoration Creme again this week only because the sofa was so dry when we purchased it. I've have used it on a brand new leather chair (that now looks better than when it arrived) and my car interior. There is no greasiness after application and no odor. Ingredients are natural so I don't have to worry about sitting on toxins. It also works on wood. I collect mid-century wood decor and it does a fabulous job of reconditioning the wood. Have used on a table that had raised grain from a water mark and it helped disguise it considerably. This product is now a staple in my home cleaning supplies and I'm sure I'll find new ways to use it around the house.
Review: Brings dull lifeless wood furniture, etc. back to life! - We have a large puggle named Ike, & he has done a grand job of scratching up all our interior doors (meaning our doors look someone took a cheese grater to them)! In Ike's defense though, the builder of our condo did do a truly shoddy job of staining & sealing the woodwork & doors. It's like they put only one coat of stain on all the wood surfaces & that's it, so just brushing against the doors, etc. causes scratches. Are you wondering where my product review is? Don't worry, it's right here, & Skidmore's restoration cream, well it's a miracle in a jar!!! My before & after photos of my front door, they are the real proof showing this stuff truly works wonders, & even the deepest scratches are improved, so my doors are no longer an embarrassing eye sore anymore! I also waited two weeks before taking my after photo, because some conditioners look great for few days, but then as it evaporates or soaks into the wood, the wood goes back to looking as sad & unhappy as it had before. **Q: we have a green leather chair and the ottoman is faded and scratched.  Will this cream restore the color?**
A: We have a bark brown leather sectional,  a very dark red leather recliner and a dark green wing back leather chair and ottoman.  All of them have ware and patina that come with use, age, the sun and so on.  Like a lot of people, I wanted to restore the brand new look.  I got something much better.  I got soft beautiful leather with a soft shine and a blending of faded with the darker areas.  It's a small Co. but their phone No. is on the back label an they will answer questions.  I use it on shoes and leather clothing as well.

**Q: Is this product good for removing scratches in a guitar**
A: Not being a musician, I can't give you an honest answer but I would recommend trying it as it did wonders for an antique rocking chair that made it through the Hurricane Harvey flood. The chair was submerged past the seat for ten days before the water subsided.

**Q: Does it remove scratches and scuffs on black leather bags?**
A: It smoothes them out. It does not remove them completely. I have found it to be the best leather conditioner on the market. I have conditioned many horse saddles and tack like reins and latigos which get a ton of use. and it conditions and protects the leather. It smooths out scratches and even some gouges. Brittle leather becomes viable again. I highly recommend it. I do not think you will regret it.

**Q: Should I apply neatsfoot oil to my saddle prior to applying this product or is it best the other way around? Polishing a 1966 western saddle.**
A: Would recommend skipping the Neatsfoot oil - not good to use very often because it breaks down the fibers in the leather and the leather then gets flatter and flatter over time.   You should just use the Skidmore's Restoration cream, applying to the top and undersides of the saddle and then letting it soak in.   Rub it out about 1/2 hour later and repeat the process if it is still stiff and dry feeling.   Some really dry and old items will require more than one application to soften up.   Hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does a nice job, even on older leather. A little effort required, but worth it.

Used on a leather sofa and chair, really improved the look and feel of the leather. Then detailed an 18 year old BMW with leather interior that hadn't ever been touched. The leather really soaked up the cream, so much so I wiped it down and applied another coat. Wiped that down after waiting an hour and the leather had a beautiful sheen to it and and regained some of the moist, supple feel it had lost. It has the smell of turpentine, but don't panic, it dissipates pretty quickly. Recommend.
