## Description

This Smart Technology electric tankless water heater is configured as a "whole home" model for one bathroom residences in climates where incoming water temperature is 67°F and above. This model is well suited for heating nearly 1.5 gallons per minute to 105°F at that inlet temperature, which is the equivalent of one water saver shower head. Digital Temperature Control allows you to set your temperature in increments of 1 Degree. This model can also be used in colder climates as a Point of Use for a sink or other low flow application. All tankless water heaters are sized based on flow rate and temperature rise, and there is a direct relationship between the two. So if used in a cold area requiring a high temperature rise, it will be more limited in the amount of fixtures (gallons per minute) it can heat at one time compared to a warmer climate. When sized properly this water heater will provide endless hot water and only consume the energy needed, giving the user complete control. Prior to purchase and installation please verify this model is the right size for the expected demand and electrical requirements. The ECO 8 requires a minimum 100 amp electrical panel for installation with (1) 40 amp double pole breaker connected to (1) set of #10 awg wire. Review: Excellent product, support and documentation - Excellent product, documentation, and support. I replaced another product with this one and it has performed well for 5 years. I had to replace the electrode about every two years due to high mineral in my water, but the documentation and support was good and the the product is easy to work on.

**Q: Could this be used to slowly heat a small above ground pool?  Just wanting it warmer.**
A: Funny how all of the answers here are probably not, I doubt it or I wouldn't.  Don't answer the question if you don't actually know. 

I use the eco 8kw coupled to a standard water heater recirculation pump and it works well for 2000 gallon pool.  I would say though 8 kw is minimum for this much water.  I can maintain 80°F in ambient temp of    60° (nightly low) to high of 72°.  I run it about 2-4 hours a day depending. Costs about $3 - $6 to run per day.  Hope this is useful information.

**Q: will freezing weather damage it**
A: As long as the water is able to run though the pipes it won't but the water won't be very hot. Only heats the water to a certain degree above original temp. Check the specs on the web site for more detail.

**Q: To replace a 40 gallon water tank heater with 40 amp fuse, is this a feabile diy project?**
A: The EcoSmart 8 isn’t capable of replacing a 40 gallon water heater. The 40 gallon heater is designed to supply hot water to every faucet in the house. The EcoSmart 8 is a point-of-use water heater designed to supply heated water to only one faucet, and usually only a bathroom faucet.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Using as radient floor heat source. long term results - over 15,000 hours run time

I built a 16'x20' wood floor shop and installed under floor heating in 2016. Bought this unit as a low cost proof of concept heat source because it met my power requirements and flow rate. I installed a meter to monitor usage and it has over 15,000 hours of flawless operation time on it even while pumping water/antifreeze mixture. I installed a thermal sensor to cut it off when the return temp reaches 110F to let the hot water warm the floor and save some electricity. When the temp drops it turns back on and doesn't need to need to run at full power. I keep wanting to put a current monitor to see what actual watts it draws when not at a full "burn." Our winters here lately have been in the sub 0 range and with this unit my shop will keep at a cozy 65F. I do need to do some more insulation under the floor to make it more efficient but that has nothing to do with the water heater. When this unit dies, I have no qualms about buying another one
