You should have no problems with that. The important thing will be to look at the AMP draw from the Modem. I use this setup with a variable speed 1/2" diaphram pump that will draw from 5 -14 amps from the battery. I use this to water my garden, and I have not experienced any issues. You will want to ensure you have a good inverter with smart capability to turn itself off before it damages the battery.

I would like to use this to power a 150watt 12vdc to 120vac converter to power a small 63watt 120volt exhaust fan for our green house. Will this work?
