I have traveled with the Ceptics Type M travel adapter three times now. It appears to be made of high quality materials, and the value is good. This 3-in-1 input device is supposedly designed in the USA and includes a limited lifetime warranty. It accepts standard North American 2 or 3 prong flat pin plugs and has dual USB ports that charge up to 2.4A.The size is ultra compact, measuring only 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.75 inches. It is awesome. It handles a max load rating of 10 to 15A at 250V. Just remember this is only a plug adapter, not a voltage converter. If you plug a single-voltage 110V hair dryer into a 220V outlet with this, you will effectively turn your appliance into a very expensive, one-time-use smoke machine 🔌Make sure your electronics are dual voltage before use. It works perfectly for grounded cell phones, laptops, and camera chargers in countries like Botswana. The build is solid and doesn't take up much room in a carry-on 🔋

This is the crème dela creme of international converters. I was so tired of having so many different ones to keep track of at home. Now we just use these and it is so much better. Works as it should and seems to hold up to our abuse.

It is virtually impossible to buy, at retail in the USA, a plug for use in South Africa. The SA plug-system is totally idiosyncratic and specific to RSA. Consequently, when I needed a plug for use with my laptop this was when I bought. Just as a note...for those who don't read further than a few lines in a product review. This plug is not a transformer and will only work with your laptop if it is recent and can accommodate both 112 and 200+ volts. Yes, you can use this to plug-in your phone. But, it will fry unless you have a device like a compatible-voltage laptop as an intermediary. Back to the review... The plug is just that, a solid-state plug. It doesn't do much that you can see. You'll hardly notice it until it goes wrong. This one did NOT go wrong for me ~ so I am happy. The best products of those which works seamlessly and without hiccups. In fact, I was happy enough to buy another three from the same vendor as gifts for my colleagues who travel to SA or to give to those I meet who thought they could manage without one. This is the sort of item that costs very little but without it you can feel like you are on a desert island. In summary, not only would I buy this object again but I already have several times over ...

I bought these adapters for a trip to South Africa and Botswana.I'm from the United States, and these adapters worked well for all my North American plugs: grounded (3-prong '.' ), polarized (2-prong | l ) and standard 2-prong ( l l ).They also work well to adapt UK 2-prong plugs and UK 3-prong plugs, which some of my classmates used.When they arrived, one of the plugs was partially disassembled. I think it was never assembled properly at the factory, because there were no signs of damage. One of the internal metal contacts had fallen out because of the partial disassembly. Luckily, I was able to place the metal tab in the correct position by referring to the other 2 complete adapters. I then snapped the two halves of the plastic housing together, and voila! Good as new.The adapters have a nice strong "grip" on whatever plug you insert into them. Because of this, I was able to leave the adapter attached to the end of my MacBook Pro charger cable throughout my stay in South Africa and Botswana. The adapters lasted through a month of daily use in a classroom setting in Botswana with no signs of wear.

This adapter is relatively compact, offers great charging speeds, but isn’t the highest quality build. I believe it comes at a fair price.When I travel I carry an EU outlet adapter, UK outlet adapter, and a dual-USB port brick (Anker brand, 2.4A max). This unit is a bit larger than those three items combined, but far more convenient than needing to juggle them and doesn’t add more than a few grams of weight.After giving the C1 port a test, my phone said “super fast charging”, functionality I would have been glad to have during past trips when I had to take an exploring pause to slowly charge back up.The device tested is my second go at ordering as my first came badly cracked (see photo) from poor packaging so keep in mind it may not be the best quality plastic.For those who travel with a few more devices than I do, the ability to charge 5 USB devices and still plug in via the socket receptacle is excellent in such a small package.I plan to bring this along with me on my next trip instead of my previous set of items.

You need this if your travel includes South Africa or Namibia. Great quality and works with common US chargers and plugs. 5 star

These adapters worked great in South Africa (Cape Town and Safari at Kruger National Park). Never got warm, didn't glitch and worked perfectly. In fact, at the Cape Town hotel with only a single outlet, I was able to use the adapter with a U.S. power strip to provide enough outlets to recharge two iPads, two iPhones and two Apple watches at the same time. I admit I was nervous these wouldn't work before we left for the trip, but with no way to test them before traveling (no South Africa outlets in our U.S. home!), I had to take it on faith these would work. Absolutely no issues during the two week trip we took. Definitely a good buy.
