Excellent device
Review date: 5th April 2024 In a world of poor quality products, this device truly leaps out as a marvel amounst the smart devices. A device that is like no others and is actually worth the money that I paid for it. I have owned this device since February 2024, and it has spent 90% - 95% of that time fully charged, and on my wrist. Even now when I look at my watch, the battery is 69%, my heart rate is 74 beats per minute (Bpm) and my daily steps are 9207. This device monitors my stress levels, and can send an alert when my Bpm increases above a specific level. This has previously allowed me to relax, utilising the devices built in breathing exercises. The device can differentiate between napping and sleeping, and will advise accordingly. Monitoring whether the desired sleep or nap was sufficient. It can also advise how much sleep you require, and whether increased sleep is required due to your daily stress levels. It monitors everything from your resting heart rate (RHT) to the location that you parked your car. All of the above functions are built into the device. The best part is, that all of the information that your device gathers is presented to you, via the Garmin connect app. The Connect app can be installed on android, iPhone, iPad, and windows devices. Allowing the watch users to gain access to their personal info. However, the Garmin Connect app, can only be accessed by one device at a time, and does not provide dual access (access from both the android device and ipad at the same time). The Garmin Connect app displays a logical user interface (UI), allowing the user of the watch to have a seamless user experience (UX). This Garmin connect app displays various graphical, and written details, providing weekly sleep patterns, suggested improvements to sleep coach information and stress levels. There is also an app store that is associated with this device. The app Store, which is called the IQ Store, and it allows watch users to download various apps. The apps range from analogue watch faces to more indepth sensors such as core body temperature. The watch strap is rubber, which isn't great, but is understandable, due to the activities that you can do with this device i.e. swimming, skiing, weight training, yachting, mountaineering, etc. However, you can change the watch strap if rubber is not to your liking. The watch strap ustilises a clipping mechanism, that allows the watch user to change the strap in 5 - 10 seconds. At the time of writing this review, I have charged this device 3 times (when I initially brought this device and twice when the charge fell below 50%). This has allowed the device to work with my body 24/7, to monitor all of its essential functions from sleep to Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). This review has highlighted some of this devices functions, as each function of the watch would require an equal sized review. My personal advice would be to buy the watch and try it for 3 weeks. If you don't like it send it back, but I have a feeling that once you use this device, you will be confused regarding how you went through life without it. On a final note, this device has a built in torch! Who puts a torch into a watch? Garmin, that's who.

Best watch by far from a top seller.
I’ve had my watch for nearly a month now. It’s action packed with features. All an on display so that I can just glance at my watch and it has all the info that I personally need.. Fantastic battery life near 30 days without a charge, now that’s something. I like a big watch because I feel so comfortable wearing them. I was always a Casio buff but this watch changed me completely. It’s not Oled but the display is perfectly clear day or night. Price wise? I’ve had more expensive watches and not been as excited until I got this one. Longevity wise it will last a fair few years without a fought. 100 mtr aqua depth is something on a rechargeable watch these days, so yea at the very least I shower with it on. Time is controlled by satellite so there’s never no need to keep on changing the time by other means. Lots of features I don’t use but the watch face with all the info. Ok it’s not a sapphire glass but?? I’ve placed a glass cover on to protect the glass underneath, same as my phone. Connectivity to my phone was such a simple process and dosent give me a moments trouble.( I-phone 15 Pro) Nor does it interfere with the vehicle that I have. All in all this really is a £ for £ bargain And delivered well in time!! Absolutely love this watch and compared to others of this similar price for me it blows them out of the water. Quality robust time piece . Well done Garmin.

Simply Amazing - Does way more than I thought even !!!
I had wanted a smart watch for a while, & many people recommended their ideas. But this was the most common watch recommended by my friends - for my needs - mostly swimming & hiking. It really surprised me with its accuracy for swimming distance, & now I do not need to try to remember how many lengths for a start. After swimming its data is sent to my phone & is amazing. On the bus home, I see when I change stroke, when I stopped after 1,000m before the next set, my heart rate....etc etc. I spend a lot of time in the mountains & it knows when the barometer is falling & gives a storm alert. Its altitude measurement is accurate & fast to change too. It can even measure my O2 & give me acclimatisation info too. It even told me how I was doing in my overall acclimatisation after a period of days at high altitude. Another thing I was shocked at was its stress measurement. I dont even know how it does it, but I get a buzz & alarm when I am getting stressed, & it's always been so correct. The attached graph shows this day so accurately - it almost knows more than me. I was stressed in trying to get across the city from 4 to 5pm, then was trying a new type of meditation at a friends health centre. It is graphically clear on my watch where the orange stress was high when I left at 4pm & then the 2 blue chilled areas when trying the meditation - WOW !!! I did not think I would be interested in having phone messages on my wrist, but actually its great as I can just glance at my watch to see if I actually need to get my phone out & reply or leave it - Nice SOOO much more too - I cant recommend this enough !!!!!

It's a great bit of kit
A properly chunky watch, but one that's packed with features. It's a massive step up from the fenix 3 hr that I had before, and definitely one I do not regret taking. As weird as it sounds, the built-in torch is remarkably useful. The GPS is responsive (can't say I've specifically tested the glonass functionality such that I'd notice), the WiFi and Bluetooth connections are fast and stable, as are the ant+ connections. In terms of price, it's not cheap, but it doesn't sting anywhere near a much as the newest model does, and you get the vast majority of the functionality barring voice control - I have enough devices that eavesdrop on me, so my watch definitely doesn't need to. I am still determining how useful of a fitness tool it is, but if my experience fo the fenix 3 is anything to go by, I expect it'll be an absolute boon.

Fantastic battery
Got as a replacement/upgrade to an older Garmin model that I loved and found the transition (still haven’t read the manual) a tiny bit jarring but I do like it and def see it as an upgrade. Originally I wanted it as its battery life is massive (last one started as 7 -10 day per charge but 5 or 6 years on and it lasts for about 5) states that it should last 29 days on a single charge with solar gain but frankly first charge lasted just over a month (Xmas day til 30’th Jan) and seriously doubt I has gained any solar as it’s been freezing so had long sleeve on constantly (obviously as a smart watch only not in gps mode - not tried yet)

Would’ve been 5 stars
This is a fantastic watch. So many activities that can be tracked with all the data you’re ever going to need to monitor training improvements. The solar glass increases battery life, and although initially it appears a complicated bit of kit, once you’ve read the manual online!) and looked on YouTube, it is easier and intuitive. So why only 4 stars? The mapping. Not so much the quality, as I think it’s “good enough” as a support for a paper map or OS mapping on your phone, but the download process. Messages on the watch say it will take up to 6 hours, and then it fails or tells you you have insufficient memory. After days of frustration, I tried through garmin connect with the watch plugged in to the computer and whilst this did work, it still took 3 attempts. If mapping is important to you and you can afford it, go for the sapphire model as the maps are pre installed. Otherwise, be prepared for a few days of frustration. All in all, despite the map issue, which is well documented online, it is an amazing bit of kit and you won’t be disappointed

Garmin over smart watches
The look, feel and design of the watch are just excellent, a good screen size and stacks of features, the basic operation of the watch and software is good, with great trading accuracy and power performance, however finding more detailed instructions of the watch and its function’s are found in multiple places, including websites YouTube and in app links, this becomes little adventure in itself, overall loving the adventure!

Amazing Watch
I have been an Apple Watch user for years and I decided to make the switch to Garmin, and so far it’s been an absolutely fantastic watch, instant statistics for your workouts and off the information you could possibly want and need. Battery life is a massive positive as well, I charged to 98% and it says it will last 28 days off a single charge!! Watch strap is nice a soft as well so is very comfortable to wear, yes this watch is expensive but it’s worth every penny! (Especially if you’re an active person who’s looking for more statistics)
