Bought this because I needed another rod and reel for crank baits swim baits and jigs. Reel it super smooth and will cast extremely far with little effort. This was a great rod and reel till I accidentally threw it in the lake. Ordering another one now.

The combo worked great until I hooked a 8lb bass on it. My rod broke. I loved this combo until today. Had it for a little over a month. I wish I could have my rod replaced. Would recommend for a beginner angler.

Have had the same model as purchased for years and recently broke the rod by landing a big fish the wrong way. Bought this one in camouflage. Love the looks and quality

Well - had a couple issues. Rod came broken - but Lew's customer service was very quick and great to work with on my return/replacement.However, the reel as noted by others has an issue. When you push down the thumb button to release line, sometimes it does not release. This is a problem obviously!Hopefully Lew's customer service has a solution.
