Exactly what I expected when I purchased this product after reading other reviews. It appears to be the only freeze dried whole sea buckthorn berries available on Amazon. I’ve been adding 2 tablespoons of the berries into 12-oz. of boiling water and letting it steep for 5-10 minutes before “smooshing” it against my mug. I’ve been eating the fruit along with drinking the tart (and unsweetened by choice) tea, but trying not to swallow the hard little black seeds in the middle of the sea buckthorn berries. I’m hoping to experience the purported benefits from the tea within the next couple of weeks.

I was excited to try something new and healthy. Sea Buckthorn is said to have all kinds of health benefits. However it can also impact your medicines and cause you to to have a hard time clotting blood. Be sure you read all the risks before you take it. I started by trying a few of these right out of the bag. They were really very sour. Also the seed inside are quite hard. It eventually will break up but it seems so hard that it is one of those things your dentist would tell you not to chew on. Next I put some in hot water and made a kind of tea with it. I added sweetener. This was a more tolerable flavor. The sweetener helped a lot. These a far more sour than cranberries. I eat plain cranberries from time to time and these are a lot more sour. The seeds were just as hard after soaking in the hot tea water. I am not sure if I’m going g to continue to search for a way to consume these. My jury is out.

Sea buckthorn is an excellent source of Vitamin C and iron and is found throughout Asia and Europe. I did a little research and it's important to distinguish sea buckthorn from other burkthorns. Some people use it as medicine to slow the aging process, but that's unproven. It may have an effect on blood clotting, and I saw a warning that you shouldn't ingest it two weeks before surgery. Do your own research, but it seems safe to use generally. I found the taste more bitter than I like to eat as a snack. The buckthorn is also slightly crunchy and would be best suited as a topping rather than added to your tea as suggested.

So bad product it was smells so badly it was old , and not able to used , I would call police why you sell so badly product

I never had sea buckthorn before as a food item, I normally see it in my skincare! I know it is FULL of vitamin C, more than oranges, so I was excited when I got this. I wouldn't eat these by themselves. They are a bit sour and they do have a funky scent to them, which I assume is normal. I don't expect these to be sweet at all, but like cranberries which are even tarter. I add them to my smoothies and also as a topping for salads, as I don't mind the sour taste & crunchy texture. I have also made tea with them, by steeping them in some hot water & removing after a few minutes. I like the sour taste it has for tea, as it is a thirst quencher. Really pleased with these. As I never had anything like this before, I have nothing else to compare it with, so my rating is not a comparison one.

Its a good product overall, but not freeze dried. Usually freeze dried fruits are crispy but this one is just soft. This product is way more expensive than others of the same on amazon because freeze drying is an expensive method in general, The taste of the fruit is nice and tart, seems of good quality, but I feel like I paid more for no reason here.

Semplicemente perfette! Da tempo stavo cercando delle bacche di qualità con le quali farmi un buon tè al mattino. Le qualità di questo frutto sono indubbie ma è assai difficile trovarne. Finalmente ho trovato il fornitore giusto ed il mio raffreddore cronico d'ora in avanti sarà meno impattante sulla mie attività. Grazie
