Heavy Duty Well Made Equipment - You Won’t be Dissapointed!
I purchased this kit in March, 2018, including the 1/2” (12 x 20) silhouette target and the 1/2” (12) round gong. I also got a “T-Post” mounting bracket. First up, this is all heavy duty quality stuff. Steel welds and machining is top notch, hardware is bulletproof, paint is heavy duty enamel. The 1/2” targets are HEAVY. You don’t want to drop them on anything, including your foot. When putting this stuff together, be careful. Until you get it mounted and secured, it can tip over. I had to watch my dog because he likes to sniff and check while I do stuff. If this stand fell on him with the plate mounted, it would kill him.I put the stand kit together with two lengths of 2 X 4s, 3 FT and 5 FT. I used #10 panhead wood screws to secure the mounts to the lumber (you need these for the 1/2” plate). The 12 X 20 Silhouette was too heavy for a 5 FT mounting height. Sure, it stood there, but I’m fairly certain it would fall over if hit off angle by a fast moving round of heavier weight. The 12” gong was PERFECT at 5 FT. I moved the 12 X 20 to a 3 FT height and it was very stable (as shown in the picture). I’ll be mounting the 12 X 20 Silhouette on a T-Post for a 5 FT height instead. For the base, I’d advise adding lock washers to tighten stuff up. I also added medium duty 1.5” springs between the plate and washer to tighten mounting of the plate. This worked out well.A number of people have complained about the bolt hardware stripping out for the T-Post mount. This is because it’s a tight thread and was painted after being tapped. No problem, just take your time and use a hand operated hex driver the first time you insert the bolts (a little WD 40 also helps). I screwed them in until they got tight, then backed out and repeated this several times until the bolt cleared the hole. After you do this, the bolts screw in and out without difficulty.Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. Good quality stuff, quickly shipped, well packaged, easy to put together. I look forward to using this gear at the range and will update this review with pictures. A+++

Definitely worth every cent.
Such a great set at an affordable price!I hit it with 147g, 150g, and 168g 308 and 55g and 62g 556 its first day out from 100m-300m and it held up beautifully. The rounds only knocked the paint off and did zero damage to the steel.I came back from the range and ordered another one in 3/8” thick. At some point I’ll probably end up with 3-5 of these! For the ammo I use and the distances I shoot them at I think the 1/2” I purchased first might be a tad overkill but I’m glad I have it just the same.I’ll make sure it’s always placed at the closest range and put the 3/8” at the further distances.I love that they’re easily portable in the back of my truck. One consideration you might have is the spalling does chew up the 2x4 a bit. They sell a steel protective strip but I doubt I ever buy it bc of how cheap 2x4s are.

Easy to use
These targets and stands are great, very durable even with 5.56 at close range, the new X shaped base is awesome as well, very stable and digs into the ground well. The head tilts the plate downward so that the fragmentation is mostly directed downward, this target is very safe compared to a lot of steel target/stand combos.

Worth the money.
I have the 2/3 IDPA in 1/2” and like to fine. Has stood up very well to everything from .22, 9mm, .45 and 556. At 100 yards you will get some pitting on 556/223 but it’s not terrible. I won’t hit mine with any more of that as I don’t want to buy another just yet. I think the 1/2” is worth the weight and the pieces to hold the 2x4 have stood up to frag just fine. Good product overall.

Very happy with this purchase.
First off, I love shooting steel and these targets dont disappoint. I bought two and set them up pretty quickly. Just cut your 2x4 to length and head to your favorite spot. Set up is easy enough but a socket set or wrenches will be needed. The legs are a little of a headache and mat take a minute but once they are interlocked correctly you just insert the 2x4 and you're good to go. The powder coat on the target doesnt last long but that's expected. Make sure you bring spray paint to resurface the target occasionally. The legs work well on uneven surface and have a notch to be secured with tent pegs. If you are shooting on a slope, use the pegs or your target will tip over when you start laying in on it.they store easily, transport nicely and function well. The metal is ar500 and I shot them with 9mm, .45, and 5.56 and there is no dents or deformations. Buy with confidence.

Buy This! It's worth every penny.
Awesome Target! Stands firm even on uneven surfaces. My 9mm and 223/5.56 couldn't even scratch it. This is the 1/2 inch thick target so it is more heavy, but I anticipate heavier hitting guns in the future so I don't mind it one bit. I would recommend this product. I assembled it in 3 minutes. Bought a 2x4 at Home depot for $3 as my wooden post to mount the steel plate on. There are holes in the steel base and top that you can use to drill wood screws into to secure the metal stand to the wooden post but this is unnecessary. Even so I wrapped a layer of Duct-tape around the bottom of the 2x4 before inserting it into the base and it fits perfectly snug/tight with no wobble space. <- (Much easier than screwing and unscrewing the wooden post to the base each time and provides faster disassembly). I've used this target on several shooting excursions and its as good as day 1. It gives a loud satisfying ring easily heard when shooting long distance or close range. 5/5 stars - Would recommend.

Have fun and be safe - use non magnum Rounds and leave the rifles at home
I am a firearms instructor and bought this for work. It works without a question and has taken oodles of hits. I don’t keep track so oodles is well about 10,000. Either way I use a minimum safe distance of 15 yards and place an old tire on the ground in from of the target to catch/deflect spall. This tire is approximately 1.5 feet ford of the base. No issues yet. I will have low confidence shooters start at 50 yards. With some good coaching (not/youtube) I can have a shooter hit 3 of 5 on second magazine. I normally never load past 5 for training. Anyhoot. I then move forward to 25 and then to 15. The ring back keeps the shooter focused on the sights and not on the target. I just might order a second for the time being
