Very disappointing. Two of the buckets seals are too big, resulting in the lids not able to close properly, so it defeats the purpose of why I bought them. I did contact the seller who was very quick at responding and trying to help in finding a solution of buying seals locally. However, I could not find any seals locally so I was refunded £14. This I consider a big insult given the price for the buckets and you cannot find covers for that price. Also, the buckets claims to be food grade but they are not. One month in and I am still trying to get the odour from the one that can close. I finally give up and ended up buying Curtec wide neck screw lid. It was delivered this evening, the lid closes perfectly, it is UN approved, food grade and the scent before it is wash is next to none.

Ok, I read some reviews about plastic smell? That’s just a bunch of nonsense. So I researched this company and the buckets. These are some of the highest grade food quality buckets you can buy, and they are made in America. They smell like nothing. They are BPA free and made of the highest quality plastic with the thickest mil you can get. These buckets are top quality if you are doing food preservation. They’re worth the price! If you are not doing food preservation, go get a cheap Lowes or Sams bucket from China, but don’t be disappointed when the handle breaks off and the lid fails. I have bought nearly 20 of these and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I am using them to store grains in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbing packs for long-term storage. They are a bit more price-wise but worth every penny. Will buy again.

The buckets and lids are exactly as described! The rings went on a little hard. I found a little trick that worked for me. I put the seal on turned the bucket upside down and stood on the carpet on top of the bucket. I braced myself near the doorway and did have to rock a little back and forth. For reference I am about 150 pounds and was standing on the edges of the bucket. The rings sealed with ease (with this trick) and fit perfectly. The quality of the seal (s) they are double sealed is excellent. The color is fine and thickness of the lid and bucket seem standard. I am storing wheat berries and these will be perfect. Happy storing !!

Bought 3 of these 5 gallon & 2 of the smaller, green buckets. Got the lids on the latter with an old, rubber mallet but could not manage it with these 5-gal. ones, even after warming them first in my dehydrator. Customer Service was great when I emailed them for suggestions - they sent me a link for a very helpful You Tube video. Even so, I had some doubts because the guy in the video had hairy, muscled arms while I am 5'2" & a female in my 70's... To compensate, I bought a new, 3# rubber mallet; heated the blue rims to just the 2nd setting (95°-110°) in my dehydrator for about 15 minutes; put the bucket base on a towel over my wood floor; then, with an old washcloth over the rim, began pounding, following the advice from the video man as I struck the rim, hitting successively right next to the last spot hit as I inched my way around the circumference. And it worked perfectly! SO pleased now & I highly recommend these & will be ordering more!!
