Gifted this to my 7 year old for his bday. He loved them and was able to read them independently. They’re similar is skill level to magic tree house. Short chapters, sometimes challenging words, interesting stories.

I tutor a 3rd grade girl who still struggles sounding out words, and frankly, she doesn't love to read. Mostly, I think, because it's such a struggle. I suggested we try a Nate the Great book and she grudgingly went along.The humor in this book made her a total fan. Every time he makes a pancake reference ("I folded a pancake in half and put it in my pocket for later,") we cackle with glee. Pancakes are a running joke throughout the series and we enjoy finding the jokes.The school year is ending and I worry that my girl's progress will slide over the summer. So I got her a bundle of Nate the Great books. I hope she will read them.

My 5 year old grandson loves them, so do I.

My second grader just started reading these - fun books !!! Loved that the seller even added a personal note “have fun reading “ what a nice touch !

This was for my grandsons and I needed to send it out of state once I got them.
