It is a must for any serious spiritual aspirant. ### ⭐ Unreadable and Impractical *by D***R on October 7, 2013* I bought this book based on Ryan Kouroukis' review (currently the one below this one). Since he puts this book alongside Marnia Robinson's book "Cupid's Poisoned Arrow: From Habit to Harmony in Sexual Relationships," I was expecting something like her straightforward and practical book on Karezza. Unfortunately, Samael Aun Weor's "The Mystery of the Golden Blossom" is nothing like what I expected. I consider Aamael Aun Weor's style and content unreadable. Possibly he copied the manner of occult books of the time. Here are the first four paragraphs from Chapter 17, entitled "Astral Projection:" "We have much to tell in regards to projections of the Eidolon and suprasensitive travels out of the physical body." "In the moments that I write these pages, extraordinary and marvelous events come into my memory." "Reviewing old chronicles of my lengthy existence, with the tenacity of a monk in his cell, Eliphas Levi comes to mind." "One night, out of the dense form, I went everywhere invoking the soul of that departed one who in life was called Abbot Alphonse Louis Constant (Eliphas Levi." The chapter then proceeds to describe Samual Aun Weor's magical meeting with the long-deceased occult author and magician, Eliphas Levi. I consider this a lot of high-falutin mumbo-jumbo. Whatever scraps of information about sex and spirituality this book contains are surrounded by mountains of useless occult pedantry, fantastic tales of the author's own experiences, outdated moralizing, and claims by the author which are difficult to credit. I have been studying spirituality, particularly Eastern thought, for over 40 years. This is my first look at a Gnostic source, and I am not at all impressed. P.S. (7/5/18) In my review, I mentioned I had not been impressed by the few Gnostic-related works I had run across. However, I am currently taking Jessica Dibb’s online course “The Living Enneagram” and the Enneagram, which has a complex history dating back to ancient Egypt, is related to Gnosticism.
