The Sony headphones I had (£18!) sounded ok but fell off every time I moved my head! These, as you'd expect, sound wonderful and are really comfortable. I could wear these for hours

I usually go for Marshall headphones as they honour a good deep bass sound (to enjoy rock/metal) but the wired headphones do not come with long leads. I needed one for my Yamaha electronic drum kit. I have bought a Shure headset mic (to sing while drumming) and am very happy with the overall quality so opted for these Shure headphones, especially, also, for the long wired lead. They are excellent build quality (really soft and easy over the ears) and the sound quality is very crisp and clear. The true tone of every strike of drum & cymbals very accurate. The only thing is that the output favours & celebrates slightly more towards the 'treble' spectrum so if you need more bass to balance in then might have to adjust your input accordingly. A quality product and listening experience.

My last pair of the Shure 440 lasted 10 years but just recently the aluminium casting broke, so I bought a new pair of 440 s - this updated model are even better!! Superb fit for me, and the fitted padding on the headband really makes a difference. Ear pads seem even softer, and of course the superb sound quality. I can most definitely recommend them!!! With these, whether you are making/recording music, or listening for pleasure, these give the authentic sound that the composer intended. You’ll never go back to earbuds.

Bought these to replace a pair of old school SRH440s after becoming a victim of a common structural issue - the 440A is of a much sturdier, solid construction without sacrificing that signature Harman tuning which makes the SRH440 series a truly ideal monitoring headphone for DJs, producers, and mix & mastering engineers alike. Truly the best cans one will ever own for the price range, BUT with an important caveat - the SRH440A's ear pads are much thicker compared to the original 440 and are made of PU instead of leather, this provides much better noise cancellation at the cost of likely faster wear & tear, and of pushing the tuning towards the bass-heavy end. My personal solution was to swap the ear pads for the leather ones, which resulted in an identical sound to the original. It's possible that I just may not have been patient enough to break the new pads in, but I'd recommend purchasing a set of original Shure leather ear pads if pinpoint accuracy is a concern. These are also infinitely more comfortable to wear than the original 440s - the headband padding has been upgraded significantly (i.e. it actually HAS some padding now) so these are very well suited to long-haul wear without the same chafing issues are the original. Overall, a stellar improvement to an already stellar headphone. Buying anything else in this price bracket will surely disappoint!

Fantastic headphones! Great quality audio, comfortable as you like, good length detachable cord, comes with jack adapter and cord screws in to ensure you can't accidentally pull it out.

Brand new out of box didn't work. Returned for refund. Disappointed but sometimes it happens and things don't work. Returns are pretty straight forward with Amazon.

Great value super comfortable headphone for recording

I was advised to buy pro earphones for (midi) music editing. I didn't realise how much clearer the sound is than through cheaper/basic one's. These are closed back which apparently works better for my needs. Medium weight with nice cushioned earpads. Which rotate and the headband extends readily. I wear them between one and two hours each time and they do not feel hot or uncomfortable. They were not the most expensive but work well. I am happy with them.

Es ist mein dritter Shure Kopfhörer und ich bin positiv überrascht—gut angelegte 100 €. Handling und Verarbeitung hervorragend,das Design zeitlos, der Komfort für nicht allzu große Köpfe tadellos. Der Klang istunangestrengt vom baßkeller bis zu den Höhen. Ein Merkmal dieses Hörers ist, daß die höchsten Klänge etwas weicher rüberkommen— aber der baß und tiefbaßbereich ohne Übertreibung oder Untertreibung gebracht werden. Es ist ein sehr guter schallwandler für entspanntes dauerhören ; dabei scheint ihm vor allem Vokalmusik zu liegen.

Compré estos auriculares (440A) para reemplazar a unos Sony MDR7506 que usaba en el trabajo y en los que el lado derecho ha dejado de funcionar. Una pena, porque no los podré comparar directamente (o solo un lado). Estaba entre estos, el modelo superior (840A) o los Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO. Al trabajar con gente tenían que ser cerrados. Me decanté por estos por ser un poco más económicos, la verdad. En la caja vienen, bien empaquetados, los auriculares, un cable liso bastante largo y un adaptador de 3.5 a 6.35 (el típico minijack a jack, vamos). Echaré de menos el cable de teléfono del Sony. + Buen sonido. Creo que el sonido está bien pero tengo las orejas de corcho. Así que no diré más. Buscad en internet o leed reviews de pros. En cualquier caso, es recomendable siempre usar un ecualizador para modificar y mejorar el sonido. Yo suelo usar Wavelet para Android. + Aunque el nombre del modelo (440A) hace pensar a pequeñas diferencias vs el 440 original, la verdad es que físicamente son bastante diferentes. En estos los auriculares se ponen planos y en el original se podían recoger. En ambos casos son básicamente de plástico todo, pero estos parecen un poco mejor construidos. Los originales tenían los cables que iban a cada auricular visible (como los 7506), y en estos está oculto (como casi cualquier modelo de los últimos 20 años). + Cable reemplazable. Siempre es un punto a favor. Creo recordar que en los DT770 el cable es fijo. Los conectores y los cables suelen ser un problema con IEMs conectados al teléfono pero en los MDR7506 me ha durado muchos años. El conector del auricular no parece estándar pero no creo que sea difícil encontrar reemplazo. - Los MDR7506 se pueden quitar de la cabeza y poner un lado contra el otro de forma que el audio no se escapa. Estos no. Me había acostumbrado a silenciarlos de esta forma al quitármelos. Tendré que acostumbrarme a otra. - Me dan un poco de calor y aún no ha empezado el verano. Cuando los lleve a la oficina estaré con aire acondicionado pero aún así puede ser problemático. Lo poco que los he usado aún me parece que dan más calor que los Sony, pero esos no tenían las almohadillas de serie (aunque sí de pleather) - Poco aislamiento. Por sí solos no aíslan mucho el sonido, pero eso pasa con casi todos. Una vez pones la música yo al menos ya no me entero de nada así que es bastante irrelevante. Poco más dado que no puedo juzgar la durabilidad aún. Si se me estropean en poco tiempo actualizaré la opinión. Gracias!

Very disappointed. Been using them for 2 months now and the cable which is detachable got loose where it makes contact with the slot and sounds constantly lugging and changes (like dramatically changing EQ). I am using it for mixing and mastering which at this point makes the process impossible and they are simply unusable. Not sure if purchasing a cable only would fix this as the problem might from the slot.

Excellent sound, light, comfortable, looks durable. Had it for 8 months and shows no sign of wear. I use it with my digital piano and the sound is amazing.
