The Southwest Archery Tigershark PRO Takedown Recurve Bow is the successor to the original Southwest Archery Tigershark. With a rapidly growing demand for the Tigershark, we decided to take an amazing bow and make it even better by eliminating the limb pockets and not only blacking out the limbs completely, but also tapering the ends of the limbs down so there is a sleek and streamline look where the limbs meet the riser. The Tigershark PRO has an overall length of 62” and is offered in draw weights of 25lbs, 29lbs, 35lbs, 40lbs, 45lbs, 50lbs, 55lbs, and 60lbs. The riser is made of dymond wood, tiger wood, white oak, and padouk. This unique riser comes fully equipped with threaded bushings for various attachments such as sight, rest/plunger, and stabilizer/bowfishing reel. The limbs are made of hard maple wood wrapped in fiberglass and offer reinforced limb tips making them Fast Flight/Flemish string compatible.

Incomplete order.
The bow is excellent, no doubt of it. The low rating goes to the seller. The "one stick on adhesive arrow rest OR one arrow shelf rug rest" was listed in the description as "included", but I have not received either one.

Amazing bow, beautiful riser, great performance, and rusty hardware...
I ordered this bow to get into archery, so for me it is the first I have personally owned. I spent a good while doing some research on what to look for in a bow and why I should get one over another and finally I came across this one and decided to take the plunge and give it a shot. I am very happy that I did because this is a magnificent bow, the riser is very beautiful and it’s not just looks, this bow offers some good performance. I ordered my bow with the 40lbs limbs since I am just starting out and did not want to go too high up in draw weight since I wouldn’t be able to take the time to learn aiming and technique. It may be worth mentioning that I am probably above average in physical fitness levels so this weight may not be a good place to start for others, I tried out a friends 50lbs longbow before purchasing this and felt good about it, but also felt that I couldn’t hold it for very long to take aim so I decided a lower weight would be appropriate to start with. I am satisfied with this weight and I believe it was the appropriate amount for me to begin with. The bow shoots very well and I can hardly feel it once I loose an arrow so it fires very smoothly. I will say I did not go with all the standard pieces that came with the bow such as the string or rest because of past reviews scaring me away from giving them a chance. I went to a local store to purchase a new string (and seemingly much better too, but I didn’t try the original string so for all I know it may have been fine). The string was very cheap and less than 20$ as was the rest, I purchased a cheap adhesive rubbery rest and am very satisfied with the way the bow works with all of these devices. So for the manufacture I do have some feedback I’d like to give, your product is amazing and I am very happy that I decided to go with this model, however, having said that there were a few small things that really disappointed me and made me unable to give this product 5 stars. If it were not for this I would be jumping with joy over this bow and would give it more than 5 stars if I could. So first of all when I received the package it looked a little shoddy, but no big deal, right? I mean stuff happens with shipping and handling. Well it wasn’t just that since when I opened the box to look at my bow I was met with immediate displeasure once I saw rust on the nuts and bolts on the riser. Seriously? I received a new product right out of the factory and it’s already began to rust? There is no excuse for this and I honestly am astonished that they didn’t take any measure to prevent these devices from rusting. I tried my best to clean it up with a little sandpaper which does take off the black finish on the hardware, whatever. But I am concerned now for the longevity of my bow because once rust starts it’s not really something you can be rid of entirely. I plan to use this bow for as long as possible and the whole reason I got this model was because it was supposedly the higher quality model from the seller with the best materials (without going into the crazy stuff that costs 300$+). I understand you get what you pay for, but this is a pretty standard price for a starter/intermediate takedown recurve. The whole reason I went with a takedown bow was so that I could upgrade the weight in the limbs down the line a ways so I can continue to grow as I get better and eventually use it for hunting, but if the bolts get jammed due to rust I’m going to have to purchase a new riser altogether, which is what I wanted to avoid with this purchase. Literally, I looked all over on dozens of sites from various manufacturers, I went to a bunch of stores and saw the products in person. It’s a good price for a good bow, but there is no reason for something like that to happen. I for one do not think customers should have to bite the bullet due to some silly negligence like that seeing as how there is so much competition for these products. I also wanted to mention the stringer tool seems fine to me and I have had no issues with it so far, but have only had to use it a few times or so. In closing, maybe I just got unlucky and received the one dud in the warehouse. It is what it is, truly and even after this I would still recommend this product to others provided they wouldn’t be receiving blemished goods such as I did. If you are looking to get into archery and you want something that’s better than some goofy bottom line starter kit from a store look no further. This may be the bow for you, just be sure you never dry fire it, string/unstring it properly, use string wax and have fun with it!Update: the company sent me a whole new riser that is sparkling clean and new with not a sign of rust. 5/5 quality and customer service I absolutely recommend this product and company to others. If you’re looking for a great bow and above and beyond customer support you’ve come to the right place!

Beautiful, Smooth, Comfortable
What more can I say about the bow? The colors in the wood are phenomenal, the weight of the riser is perfect, the limb attachment is solid, and the quality of the limbs is amazing. I've handled some really expensive take-down recurves before, and this easily has to be up there right with them. The coloration is sleek, and while the wood that makes up the riser isn't quite as hard as you'd expect it to be the grip is comfortable and it makes the bow nice and light weight. The included arrow-rest isn't the best in the world(mine wore out after only about 100 shots) but let's be honest here: You're not paying for a flipper rest. The included string is made from Dacron, but it's a good quality string, and it fits well on the limbs. The limbs themselves are superbly well made from what I can tell; they draw very smoothly. I purchased the 55# limbs, and I have a 27.75" draw length. The draw weight stacks smoothly all the way through, and I've bumped mine around on a few things so the limbs are actually quite durable. The threaded inserts for a quiver(can also be used with target sights if you find the correct model), stabilizer, and plunger button are well made, and they don't give at all.The only negatives are that while fairly quiet straight away, the bow has quite a bit of vibration to it until you tune your nock and brace height properly that can really be jarring on your elbow/wrist. Once you get it, unless you know what you're doing I recommend taking this in to an archery shop to have them help you get everything in tune since there's no information here about the recommended brace heights or anything from the manufacturer. The grip is comfortable and smooth, but it's a bit too smooth and it heats up quickly in your grip. The finish on the wood means that sweat can make it very weird to try and grip after a few shots. If sweaty palms bothers you, grab something comfortable to wrap around the handle so your hand can breathe. Having a towel on hand works too, and is approved by the Hithhiker's Guide, but at the same time who wouldn't like some awesome looking suede leather to compliment the color scheme of the bow, am I right? In summary the bow is gorgeous. Simply gorgeous, and it just feels right. A bow is a bow, they all throw arrows, and this one looks as good as some you could shell out 400-500 bucks for. This is the first recurve bow I've ever owned and I have no doubt that with plenty of love and care, this bow will last me my entire lifetime.

Tigershark Pro: Love it! 58 inch string too short, 59 string perfect!
Love this bow! I got the pro model. The bow came with a 58 inch dacron but i upgraded to a 58 inch flemish. Both strings couldnt get me to the desired brace height - it was sitting somewhere around 9.5 inches. I had to get a 59 inch string to get me to my desired brace height (8.5 inches). **thats' for my pro model. my friends have other branded 62 inch bows and the 58 inch worked fine for theirs***The bow came with string/ allen wrench/ and a shelf rest for the pro model. I currently have it setup with a flemish fastflight string with beaverballs and a hoyt super rest, shooting 25# (this is my 'putz around bow') with some warrior 600's w/ 125gr tips and 4 inch feathers. Currently getting about baseball size groupings, so the bow shoots GREAAAAAAT.The fit and finish is beyond great for what you pay for. its not emaculate, but definitely smooth and refined enough for me - and enough to get attention at the range. We have a samick red stag for comparison at the shop, which has the same pocketless/flush mount limbs like the pro model. by comparison, the red stag's fit and finish is much better, but that bow is more than twice the price. For the price, I can't complain. a lot of my bows are like 1200-1500 in price sooooooo for 170 bux, getting baseball sized groupings? there's a LOT of value in that! It's such a fun bow to play with, and looks way better than a lot of competitor models out there **coughcough SAMICK sage**
